Terrible, thin sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These literally sound like cans. The sound is thin and wiry. There's not much difference between the presents and the game specific modes are laughable. Pass on these and get a good set of stereo phones.

Sound quality is very bad. DO NOT GET
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is worse than a pair of dollar store headphones, good surround sound but sounds like 4 bit audio. Lags when you are more than 5 feet away from the receiver.

Quality build but disappointing sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn’t think these sounded good at all. They feel like they are built well but they weren’t comfortable to me and didn’t sound that great. I played 1 game with them and then decided to return them.

Very nice for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had the headset for three weeks Pros: Price(Compare it to the bigger brands) its 25-50% cheaper! Easy setup Very comfy, no issue with pain over eight hours of usage(I have a big head) Wireless signal has ZERO lag, Range is insane Haven't had the batteries die yet, not even a (red) indicator light Cons: No Bass Lacking software customization Sound isn't the best at first and even after customizing some of the settings I was able to fix the sound quality through the wireless dongle thats included, Plugging a Aux into my sound card made a huge difference. Definitely worth the price imo.

Best Mid-Range Wireless Headset Out There!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is impressive for a mid-range wireless headset. It has strong and warm bass and I can clearly hear those very low sub-bass sound. Bass is nice for such small 40mm drivers. Mid is great and the high is very clear and crisp. It has wide dynamic range and wide soundstage. I can hear pretty accurate positions of where sounds are coming from in movies and games. There is no lag or sound cut off on wireless transmission. You would assume there might be some wireless interference but this headset never has any of those problem. I tested it by listening to "Lean On by Major Lazer & DJ Snake" and the bass is impressive. This is the song I used to test every headset I come into contact out there. It has nice, strong, and warm bass. So a good quality headset should produces that nice and warm bass. Some people complain that the sound is not good. Those people don't know what they are talking about for sure. In order to get accurate and high quality sound, you need to listen to original audio source people. Don't listen to anything you download or YouTube on the internet and expect high sound quality because some of those sources has been altered, compressed, and reduced in quality. Listen to Blueray movies and lossless audio music and you will get the best sound quality. Streaming online will not give you great sound on this headset and even for the most expensive headset out there too. Overall, it sounds excellent for everything. You need to download the SteelSeries Engine 3 drivers from their website. This will help enhance the sound quality and you can adjust its settings. If you just plug it in the first time and expect high sound quality, you haven't set it up right. Make sure you select the correct profile from its engine control. Select Music for music, Movies for movie, and Game for games. You can turn on DTS for games and movies and you will hear theater like sound quality. Don't turn DTS on just for listening to music, it doesn't sound that good, it is for surround sound such as movies and games. Battery life is great on this one. It lasted me about two weeks for using it about 1 hour a day. It feels comfortable too. My old CM Storm Sirus 5.1 headset gives me headache every time I put it on my head. Arctis 7 doesn't gives me headache at all and its sound quality blows the CM Storm out of the water. I don't have any problems with it, at least not yet. Overall, I am happy and feel it is worth it for the price range.

Good for PC, Terrible for XBOX One (X)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so excited to get this headset as I researched and researched to find out which exactly which headset would be the best for me and my situation. Amazing sound, amazing comfort, amazing mic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First thing, if you get this headset, DOWNLOAD STEELSERIES ENGINE 3 and download the drivers for the headset. If you don't, the sound quality is that of $5 earbuds. But when you do, music sounds like your on the stage in front of them, games sound like you're actually in the game. The sound is amazing, better than I've ever seen (or heard?). The comfort of these things is amazing. One size fits all, legit for once. Increase or decrease the tension on the strap to your liking. The pressure is spread across the band so you barely even feel the headphones on your head. Not only that, but the airweave earcups are extremely comfortable, and provide good sound isolation, from say, a nearby TV or wife. To make it even more comfy, put on a thin sweatshirt with a hood, and wear the headphones over the hood. The microphone is amazing as well. Whoever you're talking to ALSO will not hear the nearby TV or wife. Very clear, your voice sounds just like it does in real life. No static or white noise. They didn't lie about the zero latency. Everything gets to the headphones exactly as it should. Some people may not like the lack of lighting, but if that is a legitimate problem for you, grow up. That's all I have got to say to you. Only legitimate problem is that they can only be connected to phones and Xbox (I think its these two) via a wire. So if you're looking for a pair of wireless headphones for either of these platforms, sadly these aren't them. Overall. amazing headphones with one flaw, but for me who uses PC, I have no issues at all with them. Heck yeah, I would recommend this to a friend.

Amazing surround sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm loving this new headset. It has a suspension band that looks and feels similar to a ski google band and is adjustable. Ear cups are super lightweight and don't overheat after I used them for a few hours. I have tried several gaming headsets and this is the best surround sound I have ever experienced. Easy set up, and I am just starting to play around with the adjustable settings with the software it comes with.

Amazing Value and Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Arctis 7 to use exclusively on my PS4 Pro. Setup was super easy, simply plug the USB transmitter in and turn the headset on. It's already paired from the factory. Now the headset is only stereo on the PS4 and not surround sound but it sounds incredibly good. Every sound and little detail comes across crystal clear. The microphone also is super clear. I have had people questioning what mic I use as it's so clear. Comfort wise the headset is great for extended playing sessions. The suspension band is easily adjustable if need be. The ear pads are soft and do not get hot at all. Add in 18-20hr battery life and you can see that Steelseries has a winner with this headset

The "Best Gaming Headset?"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these after my old Sony Golds passed away; they would not recharge anymore for some reason but had served me well for several years and I was happy with that product. Since I have moved away from console gaming and into PC gaming, I wanted something a little bit more mature looking with higher quality audio and microphone. My hour or so of wireless "gaming" headset product reviews and comparisons seemed to indicate that the SteelSeries Arctis 7 was the best choice for me. The unboxing experience was pleasant. The feel of the headset was also pleasant, very nice build quality. The strap required no adjustments to fit on my head comfortably. The airweave material and foam made a comfortable seal around my ears that did not get hot, sweaty, or uncomfortable after hours of use. The cups almost blocked all quiet ambient noise in my environment; significantly more than my Sonys which seemed to amplify some noises, such as a door shutting. I installed and updated all drivers etc, turned the EQ to "gaming" and "immersion" with DTS 7.1 ON. I was honestly excited for the sound quality I was expecting, never before had I owned the "best gaming headset." I fired up PUBG and immediately was confused by how awful and tinny everything sounded. After lots of research and EQ tweaks, I discovered that the DTS 7.1 was the biggest issue to the sound quality. It really does sound like a "soup of audio", per Hardware Canucks. Since I was previously unlearned regarding the horrors of this virtual surround sound setting, I was a little upset that this is used to market this product as a feature that can help you pinpoint enemies in games like R6 Siege and PUBG. I am not an audiophile, but was expecting more from these headphones. The Arctis 7 just seems to lack that "oomph" I was expecting, and I purposefully chose these because the reviews say that all audio is balanced and bass heavy. They seem acceptable now that I have the EQ tweaked and the microphone sounds better to my friends than the Sony Golds, so I understand the argument that these may be the best wireless gaming headphones with integrated mic, but I am going to trial the wired Audio Technica ATHM50x. I am willing to sacrifice wireless convenience if the audio fidelity is markedly better and am also willing to get a wired microphone to clip to my shirt if I feel the increased fidelity outweighs the value of the Arctis 7. TL;DR: Not the OBVIOUS "best gaming headset" to a somewhat average user.

A great headset, but not for everyone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll get straight to the point. TL:DR It's a great purchase (especially on sale) for the feature set. It doesn't fit everyone's head, but if it fits yours it's great. Minus one star for firmware issues, too loose volume controls, and fit problems. Pro's: Lots of great features, looks stylish, no hiss or hum in the connection, plenty of range, good mic Con's: Some people have reported the headset being too tight. It was actually WAY too loose for me. Either there's a problem with quality control on the headband tension, or a lot of people have super tiny heads. Many online reviews show this headset as having one of the highest levels of tension. I didn't get that. My headset shuffled on my ears when I turn left and right, and when I look down, the headset would slowly fall forward and eventually off my head altogether. I tried to (carefully) bend the aluminum headband to apply more tension, and it did bend to a sharper curve, but that did not increase the tension on my head. Adjusting the band either direction did not help either. The volume and chat wheels were too loose in my opinion. I often found myself brushing them with my fingers as I took the headset off and put it on. They should be tighter to resist that. The software that allows you to update the firmware would not recognize my headset. I tried changing USB ports, tried both USB 3.0 and 2.0, tried different cables, reinstalling the software, setting the software to "Run as Admin", rebooting the PC, pressing the tiny reset button in the earcup with a paperclip, nothing worked. I was not able to update the firmware at all. There have been many posts online about the same issues, but updating firmware is one of the main ways manufacturers fix issues, so if that's broken then the shelf product remains flawed. From what I could tell, the latest firmware update was only for minor fixes and software cosmetics, but that doesn't mean there wouldn't be a critical update that needs to come through one day. If the firmware updating process is broken, then you'll never get it. I will be returning my headset for the above reasons and going with something else, but those may not be issues for you.

Great features, too much hassle.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While these are some of the better rated headphones around, the build and features of the headphones were just not on par with what I was looking for. ++++PROS++++ -The features of the headphones were great: charging while using, a bypass for speakers when the headphones are off, chat/game fade directly on the headphones themselves, as well as great mic quality. (The mic detects the lower tones in your voice and make you sound your age.) -The sound quality is better than most headphones in the way that it does not attempt to over tune the bass like Beats or other gaming headsets. However it required about 2 hours of tweaking around with settings to get it to sound not tinny. -The 7.1 is very accurate when it comes to position, however, it does require you to install additional software that didn't seem to work. -THE BATTERY LIFE WAS GREAT! I used it for a week and charged it 3 times for under an hour. I usually spend 8 - 12 hours in front of a computer a day as well. - The software was relatively easy to use and did not cause any problems when it came to driver issues. -No connectivity issues that I was aware of while using them, for those who are worried about it. ----CONS:---- - The BIGGEST Con for me was the padding makes your ears sit too close to the inside of the headset and presses against the hard plastic. The only way to avoid this was to push the headphones further forward on my head to relieve the pressure, however that threw off the sound. I could only wear them for about an hour without pain, before I became annoyingly aware of how sore my ears were. -These headphones required much tweaking around in the equalizer before they produced a satisfactory sound. The software is REQUIRED, or it will sound terrible. Not that it's a bad thing, but heads up. - 7.1 Surround sound does not work in all programs. Yes, I used the official tutorial. No, there were no software issues. Unless the game has an audio setup for 7.1, it will not work. -VR HEADSET USERS: I attempted to use these with my Vive. While they KINDA work, they are partially hanging off of your ear and the back of your head because they don't quite fit through the side of the band. I was using the replacement audio strap. Coupled with the lack of the 7.1 in all programs, it was a heavy break on the immersion. TLDR; While these headphones were good for what they are, they did not match up as a replacement for my Logitech G930s. There was too much I had to worry about with these headphones, even after a lengthy setup, that kept me away.

Great so far With my PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a bunch of research trying to find something that would work well with my PS4. This one said it would work with everything and won a few "best of" awards. I read a bunch of reviews, and it was difficult to tell what the person writing the review was using it with the majority of the time. I needed to replace my Turtle beach wireless headset that worked great until the plastic broke above both ear pieces and made it un-usable. I was a little apprehensive when I purchased and brout it home to hook it up. In all my research I never saw anything about different versions of the headset for PC/PS4/XBOX. I noticed when I un-boxed it "for PC" nothing on PS4 Compatibility. No problems though. I connected it up and it worked. It was already paired, I only had to change a setting in the PS4 to tell it to play all audio. It sounds great, very clear. It is also very comfortable. I have a large head and had no problems with comfort. I read something about volume level, but I have no problem with that. I do have it most of the way up on the headphones, but It is not maxed out in the PS4 settings. I have not tested out the mic yet, But I don't anticipate any trouble with it. You have to do a bit of clicking to find the fine print on Best Buys price Match policy. The blurb they have when you click on the guarantee, does not cover certain situations.
