Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the sound quality, comfort, and battery life of the Arctis 7 Wireless DTS Headphone:X 7.1 Gaming Headset. Many appreciate its wireless functionality and comfortable fit. However, some users noted that the bass could be improved, and a few experienced issues with volume control and the charging port. Concerns were also raised regarding the software's user-friendliness and the headset's price point.

Not worth the money. Look elsewhere.

When first deciding between headphones I wanted something with very good sound quality and good at picking up sound all around me to know exactly where my enemies are as I play a lot of FPS games. This failed to do so horribly. I messed with the EQ settings for hours trying to make it work as well as seeing other people’s success stories and trying their settings. This made the headset somewhat playable but still left me feeling like the price tag with the headphones was 110% not worth it. I will never recommend these to anyone. I opted to go for a more experienced brand for sound and good audio in Sennheiser. I purchased the Game Ones and I’m really looking forward to anything that can be better than the Arctis 7s. Good luck everyone! Buyer beware!

The cord that is specially made to plug into the headset becomes loose after about two to three months, this starts to become a pain if you have friends you want to talk to online, i have not founs a way to fix this but if i do i will update my rating but there is no sound disformation when the cable becomes loose.

    Best headset

I’m so sad they discontinued this headset! This is the best headset on the market and I had one for work and one for home. If you can find one with the chat dial without the software required, get it!

    Missing ChatMix option on PS4

These headphones sound great and are easy to setup. Sadly they are not great for PS4 because they lack lots of functionality. You can use the ChatMix dial on the headset while using on the PS4 which means you cant seperate game audio and party chats. If you try to work with it, everything sounds like a big mess. They are comfy to wear and great if your not into talking to teammates but I definitely would not recommend these for anyone on PS4 playing multiplayer. Great for PC otherwise.

If you are looking for a headset for PC then this is it chief, but do not get misguided by the description, yes it can e used on all platforms but the 7.1 surround system is only compatible with PC.

Worst headset i have ever used.

I Only have two good things to say about this headset. Good range and a long battery life. Now the cons.. They don't charge right i have to constantly unplug and plug them it for it to begin charging. I plug it them in and the steel series software tells me it can not detect them multiple time. They constantly loose connection the base or something along those lines i have to unplug the receiver in order for the headset to register. They will be connected and show up in my devices on my computer and no sound will come through them until i restart my computer and unplug the receiver again. Worse headset i have ever used and they are under 10months old, i'm going back to other brands that i have used in the past. Oh and icing on the cake i have to fight with steel series to take them back and for me to not pay to ship there broken headset.

First they look great. Second they are super comfortable. Controls make it easy to adjust things like chat/game mix and overall volume etc. Bad things: The mic is filmsy and takes some work to make it stay in place. The end of the mic is really large. When you mute the mic it has a red light that is really bright. The Razer Kraken 7.1 v2 mic is far better in all those aspects. The 7.1 DTS surround sound makes the headphones sound really hollow or its like the sound is very distant. There's no punch or life to the sound. On top of that with DTS the sound is very bright or tinny. So that along was enough for me. I got these to play Rainbow Six Siege but I'll just stick to the Razer Kraken 7.1 v2. The only thing I can say bad about the Kraken is that it's corded. Really disappointed lots of reviews say that this is a great headphone with great sound quality. It's is subjective but I just didn't like them one bit. But they do look nice.

Great Quality. But Sound So bad

For $150 these headphones are the worst i have ever heard. They are build great and look nice. But I just cant just get past how they sound. They sound like in listing through a tin can. No bass at all for the price. Also if you have a big head don't buy them because they most likely will not fit you.

Looks and feels great, but sounds horrendous

Ok so I purchased this after reading and watching many reviews on it. First thing is, when you open the box you're amazed at how beautiful the headset it. When you take them out they feel amazing. You put them on and it feels great and comfortable. Unfortunately that's where it all ends. The sound from the headset is subpar at best. I played with the eq within the steel engine and nothing could make it sound full. Dts? Why bother? When you turn it on this headset sounds tinny, hollow, and empty. I purchased these wanting a surround experience and was welcomed with a feeling like I was listening through soup cans. The microphone is also really bad about background noise. I had to turn on echo and noise cancelation on both the Realtek program and discord just so my team mates wouldn't hear everything thing that happened around in my home. The headset feels great, and if you don't care about sound quality at all then they're perfect for you. If you do then I would suggest looking at other options. I returned these and purchase the logitech g933 and it is a night and day difference to me.

    Nice audio. Defective design.

These headphones worked fine and sounded REALLY awesome for about an hour or so, and then started to exhibit signs of squirrelly connectivity. The connection would drop in and out with no reliable pattern. A month into ownership, the headphones uttered a "BEEEEEEEEEPPP" that no intervention could silence. They won't connect, won't power up, won't respond in any way. $150 piece of junk wasted.

    Cool Features, lackluster build

Bought the Arctis 7 for gaming and general computer usage. Cool features including the ability to adjust volume for game and chat separately. Unfortunately the build quality isn't the best, feels kind of cheap and uses a velcro strap as the only adjustment option.

    Bad Sofware

Just bought the headset and the same day I had nothing but issues from the get go. I installed steel series engine, I plugged in and updated the headset before doing anything. From the get go, before and after the update I got nothing but continuous beeping and the re-connect headset notification. I contacted steel series technical chat and they referred me to the same stuff I had already tried half a dozen times. All they wanted to do open a ticket. I will have to return these tomorrow for a corsair or something better.

    DO NOT BUY for PS4!

Dont expect this to work well with PS4. After setting everything up and putting all volume settings on high on the PS4, the sound out of these headsets was super weak!!! Could barely hear anything even on max. Worked with SteelSeries customer support...after 4 hours of trying to update firmware, etc.... still nothing. DO NOT BUY for PS4!
