Excellent Wireless Headset for Steam Deck Gaming

I picked up the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 wireless headset to use with my Steam Deck, and it’s been a fantastic upgrade. The sound quality is crisp and balanced, with great clarity for dialogue and plenty of depth for music and effects. Wireless connectivity has been reliable with no noticeable lag, which makes a big difference when gaming on the go. The headset is also very comfortable for long sessions. The adjustable headband and lightweight design sit nicely without causing pressure or fatigue. Battery life has been strong as well, easily lasting through multiple gaming sessions before needing a charge. Setup with the Steam Deck was quick, and the controls on the headset are intuitive. The mic sounds clear, and being able to mute it instantly is a nice touch. If you’re looking for a dependable wireless headset that pairs well with the Steam Deck, the Arctis Nova 7 is an excellent choice.

    Quality Sound, Quality Build

My family seems to be on an endless search for a durable, great sounding gaming headset. I have 3 sons that seem to go through their headsets quickly for some reason. After, using these Nova 7s for a while I think this might be the one, they settle on. As soon as you take these out of the box, you can feel it’s heft, not in a bad way. Not like it’s going to weigh on the crown of you head and cause discomfort, but like it’s a quality product. The earcups are nicely padded, the band and outside of the cups are sturdy and allow for flexibility for a great fit. The knobs, I love that they aren’t buttons, for sound volume control are great and easy to feel. The power and Bluetooth buttons are easy to use as well, as is the mic mute button. After using this headset for a few long gaming sessions, I can say that they are very comfortable. No heating of the ears for me, or discomfort around or on the top of the head. The only thing that I am a little unsure about as far as build goes is the retractable mic. I haven’t decided if I feel like this is a great way to make sure that the mic stays safe when not using it, or if this will be a weak point that might fail from use, I am hoping the former. The SteelSeries GG software offers an incredible amount of customization to an already stellar sounding headphones and mic. Even when tuning the Spatial Audio setting, I love how you can set the separation of the 7 areas and chose to focus on Immersion of Performance. The software can be a little overwhelming with the number of options, but I would recommend with using some of their preset configurations as they have some for just about every popular game on the market. Then, when you have time delve into the software and really make the sound your own. This is a phenomenal gaming headset. Great build quality and comfort, impressive sound, and a quality mic really make for a solid package any gamer would be happy with. The only thing that some might not like is the lack of any RGB lights, or that the mic doesn’t mute when you push it back into the headset, you need to make sure to click that mute button. Neither one of those were issues for my use case, but I could see how some might be deterred by them. If you are fine with those two things then these are an easy recommendation.

A Worthy choice with a couple quirks

I had the Steelseries Arctis 7 for a long time before deciding to try out this new Arctis Nova 7. This is definitely the successor to that older headset that made me a Steelseries fan. Compared to the old 7 the Nova is substantially more comfortable, sounds better, and has nice improvements such as USB-C for charging and Bluetooth capability that allows simultaneous use with game sound. It really is a very nice upgrade in nearly every way. My biggest complaint is the microphone has a different shape that makes it a bit harder to push back into its space within the left ear cup and no longer has the red LED that would indicate it was muted. Otherwise, the controls are mostly intuitive with volume wheel and the mute button on the left side and Chat/Audio mix wheel and combo power/Bluetooth on the other. That combo button is frustrating to use, it is not immediately evident how to even turn off the headset because holding it down like I do with most other devices of the like just turns on Bluetooth pairing instead. You can run the included cable to make it a wired headset if you choose or use the 2.4Ghz USB-C based dongle for wireless play on PC, PS4/5, Switch, or mobile. Thankfully the dongle can also be used with the USB-C to USB-A extension cable to avoid covering up the USB-A port on the front of the PS5 with the dongle itself which is another unfortunate negative. Lastly it includes a USB-C charging cable rounding out the accessories in the box. The old gen headset used their “ski headband” which I found very comfortable although I had to use it on its largest possible adjustment for my big dome. The Nova has evolved that design with a stretchy inner band that hooks onto a few different points and the earcups can also be adjusted in or out of the headband independently. This makes it even easier to get a proper fit for us large headed individuals and is extraordinarily comfortable. I can wear it for many hours and barely notice it’s there and that is perhaps the most important aspect of a headset for me outside of pure sound quality. I like being able to sync up my iPhone to it to be able to hear any important notifications or take a call, and the mic is more than up to the task for both calls and game chat. I am told it sounds clear and crisp. Sound quality is very good, I can hear everything around me and 3D audio on PS5 is in full effect. I’ve heard both better and worse in headsets but again compared to the older Arctis 7 it is an improvement. Cap it all off with all day battery life and it’s a very solid and compelling choice. I am happy with it and recommend it.

This headset sounds great. Love the design. My only issue with them is the dedicated software sucks If you wanna turn off the headset you have to remove the dongle. My old Xbox Arctic 5 I believe has a feature where if you turn off the headsets, the sound move to your monitor or TV. Called customer service was told that is not an option. I did find an option in their dedicated software, but it was unreliable. I don’t understand wire headset made specifically for your PC does not have that feature very annoying when I’m done using the headset I have to unplug the dongle

Overall this is a fantastic headset from the point of audio quality, battery life, customizations, and connection options. I wanted a smaller wireless gaming headset that I could also use on other devices (bluetooth and 2.4GHz) without leatherette cups. It meets and exceeds all of these things. Only criticism is that it is a bit uncomfortable for me in long gaming sessions. But this is mostly because I have a larger then normal head and not a fault of the product haha. Highly recommend this and other Steel Series products.

Artics Nova 7 - The gift that keeps on giving

The Arctis Nova 7 has completely blown me away. From the moment I put them on, I could tell these weren’t just another pair of headphones — they’re a full-on experience. The bass hits with a deep, punchy warmth that makes music feel alive, but never drowns out the mids or highs. Every track I’ve played feels balanced yet powerful, like the sound is wrapping around me in the best way possible. Battery life? Unreal. I can go days without charging and still have plenty of juice left. No more rushing to plug in before a long session — these things just keep going. On top of that, they feel rock-solid. I’ve tossed them in my bag, worn them for hours on end, and they still look and perform like the day I bought them. If you want headphones that sound phenomenal, last forever on a single charge, and can take a beating without missing a beat, this headset is what you need in your life. I honestly can’t recommend them enough.

Great sound quality/comfort. GG Software is a pain

Overall I do genuinely love this headset and want to give it 4.5 stars but can only do 4 or 5 and it leans closer to 4 in my opinion only because the GG software is not the most user-friendly program I've used and took some time to learn. The volume mixing can be tedious when swapping games and trying to avoid having your eardrums blown out. With that said, the sound quality of the headphones is definitely there. I hear footsteps in FPS games better than ever and dynamic surround sounds from shows/movies. It's one of the best sounding headsets I've had, but like I said you have to play around with the volume mixings more than other products I've used. The earphone cushions are also extremely breathable and comfortable, headband adjustment is also very easy for finding the most comfortable fit.

The sound quality is pretty good. It's my first headset for pc and i'm pretty satisfied with it. Using the the SteelSeries sonar app is pretty easy and allows you to mess with the input and output audio. There are different audio settings for different occasions such as gaming, chatting, and music. There are definitely better headsets but for the price, it's great. It's comfortable as well. Have had it for a year and only issue was needing to hard reset it but tutorials from the steelseries youtube made it easy.

The SteelSeries Arctis 7 headphones deliver an exceptional wireless gaming experience with impressive sound quality and comfort. The DTS Headphone:X v2.0 surround sound provides immersive audio, making it easy to pick up subtle in-game details. The adjustable ski-goggle headband offers a snug yet comfortable fit, even during long gaming sessions. The retractable ClearCast microphone ensures clear voice chat with effective noise cancellation. Battery life is excellent, lasting around 24 hours on a single charge. While the wireless range is solid, occasional connectivity drops can occur at longer distances. Additionally, the ear cups, though comfortable, may feel slightly warm after extended use. Overall, the Arctis 7 offers fantastic value for gamers seeking premium audio quality, comfort, and reliable wireless performance.

I have had these for over a year now and they are still going strong. I use them for PC gaming and the sound is crystal clear. I like that the mic is extendable so that it doesn't get in the way. Even when flush with the headset the mic pics up your voice well. The band that provides cushioning to the top of the head works well too. It doesn't feel like it's pushing down on the top of your head like other brands. I liked these so well that I bought my son a pair as well.

Purchased for my wife to use with her PS5, upgrading from the past gen PS Gold wireless headset. This headset rocks and solved a variety of issues for us! 1) Wife wears glasses & the former headset caused discomfort after an hour of playing. The adjustment, ear cups, and overall design of this is significantly better for her as a glasses wearer. 2) Audio clarity and performance was a significant upgrade. 3) The mic and pickup sensitivity are much better than the prior headset. We cross-play and use discord often, since using this headset all choppy/latent audio issues for voice chat have gone away. Lastly, Setup was a breeze! Bought on sale, would recommend for anyone. Chose this model over the PS marketed model 7P to get multi-use out of the headset.

This is my second pair of Arctis 7s. The first I bought years ago and have performed wondefully ever since. The only change i would recommend is to replace the ear foam as the factory foam can get hot and my ears rubbed inside. But once that was resolved, these were GREAT. This second pair I bought for my kid, and when the time came to make a choice, I didnt even bother with the other brands. Steel Series headphones are legitimately awesome, they make ergonomics matter and dont just go for flashy design.

I've got big ears, so the ear cups were a little small. Not too comfortable as a result, but I won't hold that against the product. Sound quality was overall good. Full mids and crisp treble. Bass was a little lacking, even after messing with the EQ software. Mic quality could be better. For a mid range gaming headset, I think it's a decent value.

Great headset for the price. Its usability between all of my different systems was a breeze! I love its wireless option separate from Bluetooth. I was able to connect to my PC (wireless usb dongle) and my phone (Bluetooth) at same time. A lot of headsets do this now, but what made this stand out is having a separate Bluetooth power button beside the normal power button. So not every time I turn on the headset, the Bluetooth wouldn’t auto connect unless I wanted it to.

An amazing headset for all around gaming. Crisp with footsteps when it comes to playing games like rainbow six siege and call of duty or games even like valorant. It’s like it gives you audio advantage over the opponent so you can snap at them before they can even have a chance to look at you. Honestly enjoy them and recommend them.
