I took a chance on purchasing these and theyre WELL worth the money. Not only for gaming but i never miss a call cause i can connect my phone to the bluetooth while gaming or in discord with buddies. Also being a truck driver, the hands free use and the noise cancelling while driving gives me quiet media use or phone calls. 10/10, 5/5, or however you want to put it. Spend the money and get it. Dont want to pay full price right now i used afterpay app and it makes it a lot less painful paying only $100 bucks every two weeks.

One of the greatest sounding and most versatile headsets I have owned/tried. You can connect your phone via Bluetooth and answer calls or listen to music while gaming, a feature missing on most gaming headsets. The dual batteries make it so you never run out of power and it is so comfortable that you can wear this on your head all day

By far the best gaming headset ive ever used. Sound quality is clear, precise, and has depth. Its comfortable enough for long gaming sessions, and its ability to be plugged into two devices at once is a game changer. Its probably too expensive but you can charge what you want when youre at the top of the competition.

The receiver has great range and having two batteries to swap instead of plugging the headset in when the battery runs out is amazing. Great sound quality and quite comfortable.

Great Headset Overshadowed by Terrible Mic

    Posted .

I was very pleased with basically every feature of this headset other than the microphone. The comfort, the software, the sound, the customization, the noise cancelling, etc.. I was very excited to unbox this and surprise my wife with my newly purchased headset. She hops on discord and the first thing she tells me is that my mic sounds awful. I spent several hours attempting to tweak setting to no avail. I was truly disappointed that this seemingly perfect headset I'm going to have to end up returning because mic clarity is very important to me playing many MMO's and with friends. It's hard for me to rate this headset. If I were to ignore entirely the mic, top ratings all around. Based on this one feature I'm sad to admit just destroys my overall rating. Hopefully others have better luck.

This is an overall good quality product. Good sound quality for both Bluetooth and console. Great battery life as well and if it dies you can swap the battery out for the spare so that should never be an issue. No issues so far with product integrity.

I upgraded to this headset from the Arctis 7 wireless. The comfort was slightly better on the older headset, but just about everything else is superior on this new one. Sound and mic quality are both great, the noise canceling is much improved, and the quick-change batteries are super convenient.

I'm not sure about some of the complaints regarding a 'bump' in one of the ear pieces, but I haven't experienced it at all. I moved to these from the Arctis Pro Wireless headphones, they feel like a higher level of build quality and I like the leather ear cups compared to the material on the Pro Wireless. I primarily use the Nova Pro's for PC gaming and music: sound quality is quite good, same great ability to connect to the base station and a bluetooth device, like your phone, at the same time. Noise cancelling is 'OK' although I think Bose does a better job. Ambient noise is filtered quite well, but it seems to have a problem with higher pitched sounds and can make them very noticeable; for example the tags on my dog's collar come through very clearly with all other sounds deadened. As a small nitpick, button scheme for connecting to base station/bluetooth is less intuitive than the Pro Wireless, its easy to cause the headphones to go into bluetooth pairing mode instead of turning them off. It's not a huge issue, but they're expensive, and Steelseries already did it right with the Pro Wireless.

    Good, but not for me

I bought these in the interest of having a wireless headset with sidetone and a chat/game mixer. Coming from Astro A40s with the mixamp.. I can't recommend these to someone who enjoys the audio fidelity from a wired headset and the convenience of the Astro mixamp. The headset alone is great, However, I hate when a DAC needs to install virtual audio drivers would could add to the buginess (which it did). It also disabled my Astro mixamp when I had the Sonar GG software installed which really irritated me. Bottom line, if this is your first headset or you're looking to upgrade and you absolutely want wireless and have the budget.. definitely go for this one. If not.. I would stay clear on this one in the effort of avoiding conflicts with any other headset or software. Sidenote: Some might ask.. why not just get the Astro A50s? They are terrible in comparison to the Arctis Nova Pro wireless and I've bought 2 versions of the A50s and ended up returning them. I'll just stick with my wired A40s.

Bought these for my husband and he has not stopped raving about them. He loves the fact that they come with a second battery and says the sound is crisp and does not overpower.

The good thing about this headset is the feature set. The simultaneous Bluetooth and extra hot swappable battery are two great features. Also, steel series GG software is legitimately the most useful software I've ever used and has a wild amount of sound customization. Sadly, that's where the good ends. This headset is poorly made. It feels like a plastic children's toy. Plastic isn't a big issue and can safe weight and money but only in the right places. The most concerning of which is the seam on the plastic arm the holds the earcup swivel. It was super flimsy right out of the box and just spreading the headphones as if I'd be putting them on my head and moving the headphones around caused that seam to open and bend. This area was either overlooked or meant to be a point of failure. The earcups are also on-ear for the most part unless I have freakishly large ears and that's just a no no for me. As for the actual sound quality, I wasnt impressed. It doesn't sound like you're there, it sounds like you're listening to a program playing audio through a speaker. As a person who has been spoiled by headsets with AMAZING sound stages that feel full and super natural I hated the nova for it's sound. The GG software did what it could and I spent a long time trying my best to rectify the downfalls of it's audio but I just couldn't. The mixing, mastery of audio, and it's sound curve are all just way to all over the place and sound cheap. I could see a more casual gamer the doesn't spend as much time in game loving these but as a shut in who's always online I returned these day two.

I really wanted to love these…

These headphones are perfect on paper. However, they are massively flawed by buggy software. I traded in my Astro A50s for these and used them for almost 1 year. I can say that these are very comfortable and I was able to wear them for hours on end. The Astro A50s were pretty uncomfortable and heavy. The only other advantage these have are the swappable battery. Other than that, these headphones are not worth the price. After about 10 months of use, the leather on the headphones are wearing off and both batteries drain noticeably faster than before. The main problem with these, by far, is the SteelSeries software. It is absolutely terrible. Contantly crashing, constantly needing to force quit the app and the service to get it to work right, randomly switching my audio outputs. Its a $350 nightmare. Software and firmware updates dont fix it and reinstalling it doesnt fix it. Its a shame that these headphones cant unlock their true potential without the use of the SteelSeries Sonar software, and I will add, when Sonar is working right, the spatial audio is top notch. Either way, I couldn’t deal with it anymore so I returned them and got HyperX Cloud Alphas.
