Don't buy: Great headset, but with a fatal flaw

I ordered this in July 2022 and it was in the garbage by January. The problem started literally the day I got it; it simply took about 6 months for me to try everything under the sun and finally give up. The problem is with loud digital noise barging into the audio stream, many times per day. I work primarily from home, and I bought this headset not for gaming, but for music and remote meetings. The actual sound quality (when there's no digital noise) is great, the battery life is great, the ability to swap batteries is wonderful, the range is decent, and they are comfortable too. But the flaw I experienced is absolutely fatal: Many times per day, the audio stream suddenly becomes totally garbled with digital noise. I'm confident this is not due to any interference, for multiple reasons: - When it happens, it goes from clear audio to severely garbled in an instant. Like someone flipped a switch or a service crashed. - It doesn't SOUND like interference. I'm a musician and somewhat of an audiophile, and I know what interference typically sounds like. This is purely harsh digital noise. - I have tried moving the basestation around, moving the headset ridiculously close to the basestation, and also tried various troubleshooting approaches while the problem was happening. Nothing made any difference whatsoever. - Disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable from the basestation (effectively rebooting it) fixes the issue every time... until it comes back (usually less than 30 minutes later). After months of having nearly every call I joined get interrupted by this maddening digital noise, I reached out to support. After exchanging several emails with them, I got the sense that it was going nowhere, and I also just don't have time to spend hours troubleshooting equipment that should work. Out of sheer frustration, I finally just gave up and threw it in the trash where it belongs. Very unfortunate fatal flaw, for what would otherwise be a great headset.

Best headset I’ve owned thus far, I had the Arctis 7 wired headset which was great but this is levels beyond. Though it’s quite a high ticket price, it’s very much worth it if you’re seriously into gaming, amazing sound quality, the menu on the adapter station is easy to use, and it’s super comfortable!

Had these for a little over a Month. Sound is great and still dialing in. Have not experienced the discomfort some have indicated. Not sure if it was some one-off or the individual's preference. These are comfortable and should last for a long time.

Great mic. This is my second mic of this one after a warranty swap. Because one of the speakers were a little static at times but pretty comfy and buddies say the mic is clear. Paired with the steelseries GG program you can tweak input and output sounds very easy. But the biggest flex of this mic is the swappable batteries it is a life changer if you havnt had one. I will never get a mic that doesnt have that option. Simply good mic if you dont mind the price tag. Coming from a real gamer Hours and hours with this on, i have no fatigue from it.

I like the dual connection to my ps5 and Bluetooth for my phone. Only issue is mic setting reset everytime I turn on my ps5. There seems to be no fix.

Amazing sound, comfortable, comes with hot-swappable batteries (if you are fast enough!) ANC is a game changer! Mike is hidden in earcup until you extend it. A very high-end headset that far outperforms my previous Corsair.

One of the best headphones I have ever bought to date it comes with two batteries so while you’re using one of them in wireless mode, you can also be charging the other has a great equalizer mode and also third party software that helps boost the experience on PC I also used them when I had a Ps5 and they were great no problems if they make another version that’s better than this. I’d be hesitant to buy it because this one was so amazing.

Sound is nice the software makes it better. For the price i was expecting it to be a little more clean sounding. It's kinda bass heavy with some frequencies sounding muddy. Was able to use the software to help clean some of it up. My old rocat kave 5.1 sounded better and was half the price but i worn them out and needed something new. The noise canceling works very good and does block out people talking to you. After about 4 hrs or so it puts pressure on your ears where the inside ear mics are.

This headset is not only super loud so when you’re listening to music you can feel the vibration but if you change it to sonar it can make it feel like your in the player’s perspective for rhe price of it in my opinion it’s worth it snd the battery life it up to 7 hour and even when it dies out you can always swap it out with another one the box gives you and put that one to charge giving you no breaks it come to playing just fun and performance only

It’s a great headset with great sound quality. I come from a steel series arctis 7 and gamedac pro which I had zero issues and everything worked flawlessly until the structure of the headset gave out over time on both. At this price point you expect no issues out of the box, however I had an issue where the audio was choppy and laggy. I troubleshooted every possible thing on the actual headset, changing wires and usb ports… then proceeded to check all my devices on my WiFi to no avail. Everything worked fine and it wasn’t a network issue on my end, I concluded with my research that it came down to my 2.4ghz WiFi internet which was absurd for this type of headset and price point. I returned it to Best Buy which they gladly let me exchange it for another one. I hesitated thinking to go with Astro A50x but saw a lot of sound quality concerns regarding that headset as opposed to the Nova Pro, I opted for the ps5 based white headset that still has PC functionality. No issues out of the box. Ran the steel series engine on both so both should have been updated but maybe it was just that particular device I had prior which could have been faulty. Regardless it must be a known issue with steel series since a lot of people post about the same type of issues with that particular headset.

Steel series finally made a headset I'd recommend. Tried the Arctis 7 years back and was disappointed in the comfort and sound. The Nova Pro exceeded expectations. Fantastic sound quality and loads of connection options. When zero latency is required just plug in with cable provided or purchase a longer one like I did. If you want wireless use the RF transmitter. Also was very surprised that you can use the RF connected to PC, while simultaneously having the BT connected to phone. Sound will still persist from both sources to be able to watch a quick video or take a phone call.

The setup was easy and the software that comes with it is easy to navigate. It has a lot of presets for the most popular games, and you can save a few for quick switching. So I have one Cyberpunk 2077 and then another when I want to listen to music. I got the white pair and the fit is good, they cover my ears and dont bother my earrings. The noise cancelling is good, if I wanted anything more, maybe a little bit more bass.
