Steve Jobs is told in three vignettes, surrounding significant product launches by Steve Jobs. Written by the incomparable Aaron Sorkin and based on the authorized biography by Walter Isaacson, the movie is largely factual, with a few condensed and embellished moments for storytelling's sake. Steve Jobs' longtime friend/business partner Steve Wozniak felt this film was a fitting picture of his friend. It inspired me to read Isaacson's biography and learn more about this brilliant innovator.

Steve Jobs is a three part film, which feels very similar to a Broadway play. It feels this way because the three parts, centered around three major Apple product launches, are continuous one take sequences. There are no cuts, making the acting in this film a tour de force of acting prowess. The nominations this film accumulated during the 2015-2016 awards season were well deserved. Great film, worth every penny to own such a special film to view again.

I wanted to see this in the theaters, being an Apple Geek, myself. I had low expectations, but was still surprised to hear it got pulled from the theaters. I think the story just ran it's course. That said, however, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to someone else. I would also recommend Pirates of Silicon Valley and Jobs for similar stories.

Absolutely spellbinding account of various incidents in the life of Steve Jobs. I'm close to computer illiterate, but my shortcomings in that area did not in the least impact my understanding or affection for this movie. Yet another wonderful screenwriting job by Aaron Sorkin, who also worked similar magic with "The Social Network." All that plus excellent performances by lead actors Fassbender and Winslet. One of the best movies of the year.

Danny Boyle has always been a compelling director and knows how to tell stories. Steve Jobs was the first movie I have ever seen to engage me and put me on the edge of my seat by dialogue alone... I was blown away. The classical score in this movie sets the tone of each scene so well and the finished product is a heck of a ride. Great watch.

This movie is definitely unique, and totally different from Ashton Kutcher's 'Jobs' (2013). It utilized 3 critical events of Steve Job's companies to review issues in his personal life. I didn't particularly like it when I first saw the movie in the theatre. But I watched it again and started to like it more and more every time after.

It's an excellent movie and provides some insight to the legendary man, but it misses much of his essence and vision. Having recently read his biography, I was amazed at how little I knew about him and what a complicated individual he was. Watch the movie as an introduction, than read the biography to get much more of the story.

Aaron Sorkin's script for Steve Jobs differentiates itself among other biographical films in that he chooses three moments in Steve Jobs' life, each before a product launch, to showcase the namesake of the film. This makes the storytelling of a biographical figure non-traditional, but, nonetheless fascinating.

I found myself surprisingly enjoying this film. Being that I didn't mind the Ashton Kutcher version, I was curious to see how they would go about adapting this film. I like the fact that they stuck to just the release of certain products and based all of the drama around it. Creative way to get the story told.

Many hated Boyle and Sorkin's version of the oft-told Steve Jobs story, but I greatly enjoyed it. I like the idea of doing it in this manner, featuring backstage conversations to depict the entirety of Jobs' life at those specific times. The story ends before the iPod is even fully conceived, but Fassbender and Winslet (and Rogen, among others) are worth the price of admission.

Quick pov, this is a well acted & written film worth seeing! It offers solid depth, and a truly impressive cast as well. If you enjoy technology & Apple especially, this offers some interesting perspective! It's "not" a tech film as such, but a story of the people inside of it! Cheers...

Brilliant screenplay, phenomenal performances, sharp direction, and gorgeous cinematography. While moderately successful, this film is an under-appreciated gem. It's not a typical biopic (detailing the entire life of its subject) but a character study examining the evolution of Steve Jobs over the course of three specific days several years apart.

I purchased the movie, because I'm an Aaron Sorkin fan. Although I may not agree with some of his political views, he's a master at dialogue. Aaron Sorkin's commentary is why I purchased the movie, as I enjoy learning from a master story teller.

It was an extraordinarily personal look at who Steve Jobs really was, and with all his vulnerably. I cannot recommend this movie enough. Of all the previous Steve Jobs film bios, this one was as near to the truth about who this flawed perfectionist reall way. Hats off to a great film and a memorable performance by its star.

This movie had been well received and it did not disappoint. The acting draws you in as there was no attempt to make the actors the physical likeness of those they were trying to portray. By the end you believe you are actually watching the real Steve Jobs and sometimes that was not a pretty sight.

Borrowed the movie at the library and decided then that I should add it to my video collection when the price was right. And a very short time later it was in the "Too reasonable to pass up" bin. Legal stealing. It is great how the movie changes your perspective of Mr. Jobs as the movie goes along.

This movie roughly follows Walter Issacson's autobiographical book on Steve Jobs. I have read the book way before I watched this movie. This movies highlighted few important points out of many from the book. Strongly recommended to watch this movie, as I like this much better than the other Steve Jobs-based movie.

Do not go into this movie thinking it's a biopic. It's not. There's no straight-forward explanaition about how Jobs became Jobs. It's a character study that shows 3 important events in Jobs' life, centered around the products he helped create. There's very little truth to the film but entertaining nonetheless.

Once I started watching the movie Steve Jobs I was mesmerized. It was a fascinating behind-the-scenes story about this man who's an icon of our lifetime. Steve Jobs and his company Apple have played such a big role in our generation, I wished the movie had lasted longer and told me more.
