This is one of the few 4k discs I found with a dtsx track. Sound is good and the visuals are clean. It's a good 4k transfer. Movie us definitely not for kids though!

Wow, I was truly impressed with this film and any NWA fan will be sure to love it as well. To see the group that took the rap world by storm from the beginning into stardom down to the breakup was phenomenal. Truly, a masterpiece of a movie and anyone, not just rap fans will enjoy this film to see the struggle of living in a place like Compton and doing anything to eacape the brutality of the place is crazy. This is a day one purchase for sure!

There isn't much to say beyond what has already been said. Definitely one of the best movies of 2015 and highly recommended for both the casual and die-hard fans. Most serious fans will probably already know everything in this already, but the presentation and style of the movie really make this entertaining regardless of how much the viewer knows going into it. I've watched it a few times now and even though the movie is a little longer than most, it doesn't seem to overstay its welcome and goes by rather quickly once all the characters are introduced. WARNING: Watching this movie may give you the sudden urge to listen to N.W.A.'s greatest hits album afterward. It's that good! OVERALL: 4.5 / 5

Am so glad that they made this movie. I remember when they fist hit the seen i was in middle school and i got 10.00 from mom and dad and went to the record shop and bout the cassette tape. I didnt go to the Theater to see it.So i could not wait until it come out on Blu ray. I have 48 insignia tv and theater surround system in my bedroom. Me and my wife watch it we where laughing at each other because ever song that play at the concert we would rap. Lol. Dr Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren, DJ Yella, Eazy E, Doc. YOU GUYS ARE THE KINGS. Of gangsta rap!!!! I have already watch it 3times this week!

This film is by far one of the best of 2015. F. Gary Gray nailed it with direction and the young cast portrayed their roles with solid authenticity. It seemed that the first part of the film had a better flow compared to last third of the film (the Death Row scenes were a little chaotic). This Blu-Ray is what all films should have: theatrical cut and director's cut, commentary, and extras. Salute to a film that was truly overlooked at this year's Oscars.

There's so much more to the life of the N.W.A. members that it couldn't possibly fit all in one movie. I think that there was just enough knowledge about each member presented. I kinda wished that there was a little more background regarding Bone Thugs N Harmony, as Eazy-E was a big part of their start-up. The acting was pretty good and I couldn't wait until this came out on Blu-ray!

Hello. I don't buy movies too often but I couldn't wait for this one to be released. I followed NWA for a very long time. It is a very good movie, although not exactly accurate. But for someone who's not familiar with NWA and their story, this is a very good start. Of course certain things were chains for cinematic purposes, but ultimately it was a very good movie.

Been looking for a movie to come out like this for a long time! Great movie, looking for more like this one.

Seeing the meteoric rise of one of hip hops most notorious groups on the silver screen was quite a delight. That's why the bluray was an absolute day one must buy for me. As a fan of the genre, it was very entertaining. I wonder if the film could offer another point of view to someone who lived through those turbulent times.

I bought this for my sister as a gift since she loves the old school stuff. I watched it with her and this movie is great! There's some comedy, drama, and it's based on a true story which is pretty close to the real deal. Definitely worth a watch.

This movie shows life through the eyes of the average man (non-white), surviving his way through the tough streets of Los Angeles. It's sad that so much negative criticism is aimed at this work. A great docudrama for folks who want to get a clue about life in South Central L.A. in the 80's and 90's.

Straight Outta Compton was a movie that I was anticipating for a very long time. When I got to see it, I was blown away. The whole cast and crew did a phenomenal job of adapting the NWA story to the big screen. Straight Outta Compton was my favorite movie of 2015, and I strongly recommend it.

My husband and I were in high school when most of this tool place. It was cool to see a bit of our music history, although you have to realize it is told through the eyes of Rapper/Artist Ice Cube. It is sad at the end but I loved it! It is a great movie.

After seeing this movie in the theaters, I had to get it. This movie is long but you will watch it and be in to it the whole way through. This is a great story about N.W.A. and it was produced right!

I was pleasantly surprised by how great this movie was. I was expecting to see only rapping and gang violence, but the film brought to light all the drama, laughs, and memories behind NWA.

As a huge NWA fan, I was thrilled by the production value and captivating story line of this film that so many "hip hop films" tend to lack. Best film I've seen in a long time!

This film perfectly portrays the moment in music history when hip-hop burst onto the scene, and the members of NWA became not just stars but enduring icons of a musical movement.

If you miss this film you will regret it. This is one of the best bioepics ever made, the actors chosen were perfect for their roles. Every thing about this movie works perfectly.

Why this film did not receive any serious consideration from the Academy Awards is a mystery. Although some of the performances were very raw , the casting was remarkable. However despite that, the film itself is gripping and does a fantastic job of delivering the stories behind the stories. I highly recommend this film.
