I don't buy too many DVD's in the age of downloading but I wanted something to watch with others. This movie is great quality with alot of bonus items (the perks of having the physical DVD). I wish the movie had included some of the personal relationships such as Michel'e (Dre's girlfriend) but Lifetime Network is picking that angle up.

I love this movie!! I was a young man when NWA first arrived not the scene and toms their story make it to the big screen was a testament to their resolve and talent. The story of the group is definitely one of survival and a tale of people coming from nothing and making something of themselves and in the course of that changing a generation.

Straight Outta Compton was so unexpected. The members of the legendary rap group have always been portrayed in the media as hoodlums and thugs. The movie gave a whole new life & light to their true character. Although no choir boys or saints, these great men stood up for their beliefs and belief in their innovative, courageous will to succeed.

I loved the director's cut of the film! Some of the scenes that were cut out made the movie make so much more sense when they were added back. Other scenes I could understand were cut for pacing or to not take away from a character's scene. All in all, excellent film!!!!

This movie was great. Of course if you are a fan of hip hop this will be like revisiting history. But the movie is very relevant to what is going on today. It just puts into perspective how far we really have come in the last 20 years. This is not just a hip hop film. Its a great telling of how friends relationship can go up and down.

Straight Outta Compton is one of the best movies to have come out in 2015. The story which is based off of the popularity and fall of the rap group, NWA shows the trials and successes of this revolutionary rap group. It is a very compelling story and the acting from everyone is all well done. This movie is a must see and a must own!

I thought this movie was pretty good I wasnt sure what to expect so I sat down with an open mind and watched the movie I am familiar with NWA way and the events following their rise to fame. Would definitely recommend this movie for people who are fans of the music the group or just wanna watch a good movie

I saw this movie in theaters and fell in love with it automatically it's a two hour movie but it doesn't feel like a two hour movie because it's so good the pace is so good and everything that happen I remember from my childhood and set was like wow a flashback of the 90s! Great music great story! I'm happy that it was told!

Because I was already aware of the background of the real characters portrayed in the movie, and their music and rap style, the realism was just that--REAL! I was glad to see that it was finally produced and brought out the positives that resulted from what some saw as negative ! Yes, something good came 'straight outta Compton'!

I was in my mid 20's when this picture takes place, so it brings back a lot of memories. Great story, great acting, it's got it all....and you don't have to be a big fan of their music to enjoy it. Make sure to watch the Director's Cut, it 20 mins longer,,,,but it gives you a lot more info on the story. Highly recommended by me!

If you are not familiar with the music I would suggest familiarizing yourself. The movie is so much more than rappers being rappers. NWA first came out when I was in my early twenties, this movie was like a walk down memory lane and everything that was going on back then. The acting is solid the story is well told and the music!

This movie tells the story of one of the most controversial and iconic rap groups...NWA. It's an inside look at the struggles, rise, and ultimate demise of the group. The delivery is brilliant. It's an excellent watch for anyone who is a fan of the group or those who just want to know and understand the life and the struggle.

Be aware that this version does not contain the digital copy, despite the fact that it is the same price as the version that does AND has the DVD as well. Besides that, it seems to include all the features of the other version, so not much to complain about. Great biopic of an iconic group, though some events are out of order, and one of the group's own members is left out of the story entirely.

Oscar award worthy. Love the way the movie brings the audience into the struggle between members and society. Excess, violence, life, and rage are the emotions that you will feel. The movie should be shared with the younger generation, so they can see the benefit of having passion and dreams, and the will to make it happen.

Portrayal of NWA was right on as the magazines reported during their time in the limelight. Some characters, like Tupac and Snoop, didn't really resemble the men, however, the aura was right on. Wish that more of the here and now was highlighted, so that people could see the transitions into the careers of the guys today.

Great acting, directing, and production of history. I saw this movie with two generations of my family. My children, who were coming into their own at the time this music was being made. They had several tapes (lol), I threw away! We came full circle, I understand and We explained to my grandchildren! Music of the times!

If you're a fan of hip hop, you'll love this movie! If you don't love hip hop, you'll still love. Nostalgia filled movie seeing and listening to all the music and actors. F Gary Gray did an amazing job tying in so many rappers from NWA to Death Row. Highlighted big events during the Gansta Rap era of hip hop. Dope movie!

This movie is fantastic. The storyline was great showing some of the difficulties the group had to go through to achieve their success. Also the conflicts between the different members gives you insight to how far along they came as artists. The music makes the movie worth 5 stars. I wish the movie was longer.

I heard all the hype of the movie so I was a little late to the bandwagon, It's a great music biopic probably in the last 15 years. I was surprised on how good it actually was. There of course was some truths missing but if you didn't know NWA it's a pretty close depiction. I highly recommend watching it

This movie is excellent in understanding the struggle in making themselves know with the talent he or she was gifted with as a young child and finding someone to break thru the struggle barrier of trying to succeed a career in life. It is who you know that is true and most of all have faith in whatever you do in life.
