Roku+ Stick Overheating

Setup was easy and it initially worked well; great 4k picture and sound. After a week or so, I got the on-screen warning that the Roku was overheating, and it was super hot!. This isn't an unusual fault I discovered, and Roku will even mail you a free HDMI extender cable if you ask them, so you can hang the unit in a better ventilated position. If it's free, why not just included in the box??? There are dire warnings about a overheating unit either failing, damaging your TV or even catching fire! Not worth the risk on my premium TV. Sounds like a poor design to me. Sorry, Roku. You only get one chance. This goes back to the store tomorrow.
