The preprogrammed buttons are of limited use if you don't subscribe to the four choices. Worst, the volume button has quit working after less than a year of use.

First, you'll need to manually update your player's software: Navigate to Settings >> Select System >> Select System update >> Select Check now.
Confirm the dialogue box to proceed with download and installation. Note that your Roku player will automatically download the latest software the next time when it checks for an update.
After the Roku player finishes restarting, if your TV control functions have not been restored, set up your remote for TV control again: Navigate to Settings >> Select Remotes & devices >> Select Remotes followed by your remote >> Select Set up remote for TV control. They said that this would work in order to use the Xfinity Stream app on my upstairs TV that needed a wireless box. Otherwise I find my Apple TV to be a Mich better streaming device. Currently @comcast only allows Roku to use their Stream app.
