    Buy an Apple TV instead

    I purchased this for my elderly parents. I spent about an hour setting it up, and about 2hrs explaining apps to my parents.. It all seemed to work great. Then next day, the remote didn't work. I figured it was user error, so I did a bit of googleing to find some typical troubleshooting tips. I tried everything Roku suggested aside from using their free hdmi adapter that happened to be on backorder and didn't arrive for 5 weeks after I returned the Roku. Nothing worked. I packed up the device and exchanged it for an Apple TV. I use apple at home and have always had good luck with them. Long story short, buy an Apple TV instead. You get what you pay for.

    The Roku was nothing but a headache it didn’t work right from the start got support from Roku and tried the suggested tips which required a lot of different ways to hook up the Roku different ways to no avail so just returned it

    Remote doesn’t work half the time, the stick overheats, and it had trouble connecting to good wi fi. The cheaper model with the sensor that can stick on the TV works much better.

    I purchased this item because the old one didn’t have Apple TV, set up is too complicated I’ve been trying for days I can’t return it because I threw the box away. The old one took me 5 minutes

    Not sure if the positive review are fake. This roku stick is USELESS. USE LESS. DONT BUY. This thing reboots constantly and you cannot watch any thing on it. I followed every step. Power cable is used to attach the device. I think there software is messed up. There stupid download everyday does something.....I am guessing. It worked briefly for few days and that is why I can't return this junk. my money lost.

    Bought this product for my parents so they could use Youtube Tv for their smart TV that couldn't get the app and just after 2 months of use the Roku died on them. Would consider going amazon fire stick or cube over this.

    Biggest problem is it heats excessively within an hour and half inspite of plugging it in an HDMI splitter.

    Most of the channels I wouldnt want. No local channels. The set up numbers dont make any sense. There's N.Y.news and then a Spanish channel. Wanted to cut the cable. But the channels I wanted I would have to pay for anyways. Sorry, not for me.

    Initial set up was fine, if tedious, and it’s been fine in general use until a few days ago, when the home screen would come up, but it wouldn’t respond to the remote. I’ve tried to re pair the remote using instructions from various sources, it just won’t.

    After reading so many great reviews, decided to go with ROKU over Apple TV. The ROKU + has been a disappointment, with long wait times to load (3-10 minutes). After it loads when first turned on it's great, but those long load times are terrible.

    Lots of glitches, but if you want TV on your phone or computer this works well. Video quality and ease of access are not so good. The remote has to be paired over and over and over again. I gave up and use the phone app.

    This product works for 20 minutes and then stopped working on me after that. is this is only able to be used with 4K TVs then it needs to say that within the description. If it should work with a regular TV then it needs to work for more than 20 minutes.

    nothing against best buy Roku harder to install worse to get rid of only contact with company email!! cancelled everything still get the music sound of Roku when tv comes on and off still haunting us

    As a Star Wars fan, I thought this vac was a great idea. I envisioned having it clean up dog hair while we were out. Be warned - R2D2 it’s not. I spent hours setting it up, mapping, etc. But for some reason it beeped all night. Reset, start from scratch. No luck. After numerous calls to support, they sent me a new one. It couldn’t connect to the network, and then started the same beeping. Returned it for cash back. These things have obviously turned to the dark side.

    Used roku for years this stick was the first one to give me issues. The audio playback was slurred. It was a gift so opened it outside Of return period and if you get a faulty one don’t expect roku to fix it. They basically told me to get lost when I told them the issue... worst customer support ever. will never buy another one without a discount and verifying it works correctly first.

    Had it for 7 months and stopped working out of the blue. Did everything from unplugging and hitting the home button five times and the back button once rewind twice and fast forward twice... unplugged and waited five seconds once and then 25 seconds... took batteries out and even tried to re-pair it. Nothing works. I’m skeptical s out purchasing another one since I’ve heard they like to charge a $70 fee to do that. I don’t get why they do that. I’m not happy about it only working for 7 months! I’ve had all of my remotes for years and years!

    Basic features work as described. After few days cound no longer set to developer mode. Acceptable if you just plan to turn an old TV into smart. Don't expect airplay to stream an iPhone ..
