SLOWWWWW
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure if its because the resolution is so high that my internet cant keep up or what. we have a 1080p TV but it has to stop to buffer a LOT. And it is very slow to react to the remote. My old xbox 360 still works absolutely perfectly.

DirecTV Now App Button Not There
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roku stick I saw in use and those pictured on the Best Buy website all have DirecTV Now app buttons on the remotes. But when I purchased and went to the store to pick up, the remotes did not have DirecTV Now buttons. I assume the sticks were still compatible with DirecTV Now but who knows if there was no app button. Nobody at the store could offer insight and on-line chat also could offer no assistance to help me locate and purchase the Roku product shown on the Best Buy website. So if you're a DirecTV Now customer beware, what you think you purchased might not be what you get.

Roku Breaks Your Home WIFI!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All Roku devices INTENTIONALLY interfere with the WIFI network that they are attached to in order to communicate with their remote control. The result is that your Wifi network slow down to deal with the interference....this tanks your Wifi router! I had to go as far as to install a SECOND Wifi router JUST for the Roku sticks and TV's in my house! And yes, this is a violation of the Wifi specifications and FCC rules. No more Roku's for me!

Dumbest design ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So they give a free hd extender cable so you can plug it into the back of your tv. the design is so dumb because almost everyone wall mounts their tv these days so why make something that cannot be setup properly with a wall mounted tv? I got the free extender hd cable from them and it does not work. I have to leave my tv pushed forward very awkwardly now.

No savings here.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thought it would save me money by eliminating monthly Comcast rental fees for their HD mini boxes, but to activate the ROKU unit cost me $109.99 for unlimited units & support services. Rep at ROKU said I had to buy support before he could activate my unit. Instructions for setup state, ‘NOTE: No costs required to activate unit -beware of scammers.’ What a rip off!

Will not output plain Dolby Digital 5.1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your TV does not support Dolby Digital+ pass through you’re out of luck. If you set the Roku to output plain Dolby Digital you will only get a stereo signal from most of the big streaming services (Netflix, Disney, Amazon, Hulu, and Apple).

Not worth it for the money.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For what you pay for and the expectations this thing died in two months. I changed out my TV mother board thinking that's what it was because the stream stick is was so new and the tv is about 15 years old. Hey at least my tv got a fresh new board on it but still, this shouldn't have happened being that the streaming stick wasn't even a year old.

Customer Service Fail
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased the Roku Stick, which we have installed on other TVs, it didn’t deliver as promised. Customer Service blames it on On Trac, On Trac doesn’t reply to emails and Best Buy doesn’t seem able to find it. Awful. Don’t promise a delivery that you won’t honor.

Awful waste of money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awful product. Had about 2yrs. and have had nothing but problems with it. The remote has never worked consistently. Ended up having to download Roku app to replace the remote. Now the device itself has stopped working. Waste of money.

doesn't work w/o cable they too cheap to include
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't do it. Doens't fit TV without an "extension" cable they were too cheap to include in the box and that takes 3-5 days to even ship. Won't be using any ROKU product next time around.

Posted .Hi Noroomba, thanks for taking a moment to share your feedback with us.
Because this Roku device plugs directly into your TV's HDMI port, an extension cable is only needed when the space around a customer's TV is limited. Please know that the majority of customers are able to utilize this product without any additional cables. As a courtesy, this HDMI extension cable is provided for customers who may have a tighter space around their TV free of charge and with prepaid shipping.
Rest assured that your free HDMI extension cable will be shipped as quickly as possible in order to get you up and streaming. We appreciate your patience!
