I had been looking at these things for quite some time. My goal was to eliminate the silly monthly fee for one of the cable boxes. I hesitated for months because quite frankly, I was confused about which model to buy. Honestly, I was afraid the Charter/Spectrum app would be cumbersome. I like to flip one channel at a time to visually see what's on. A neighbor urged me to get the Ultra, but I was afraid to spend the money on the "best" model if I ended up not liking the operation. I finally figured out the Stick+ model makes it possible to pair the Roku remote with the TV power and sound. I also finally figured out the Stick+ model gives me two power options: 1). You can plug into an USB outlet on the tv to power the Roku OR 2). An included adapter allows you the option to power the Roku by plugging into a wall outlet. As an experiment, I plugged the Roku into a small TV set that we don't use very often that only had a small external Mohu antenna. The Roku worked great using the Spectrum app. Yes, the Roku doesn't change "channels" quite as fast as the cable box, but it's really a very very small issue. The Roku also shows me the cable "guide" and also gives me the ability to go back and forth between two channels (ex: watching two sports games on two different channels at the same time). Essentially, by using the Roku, I now have "cable" service on our bedroom set. Because it also controls the TV power and sound, I don't have to keep two remotes with me! My intention was to use this bedroom set as my experiment and then move the Roku to another room to eliminate the cable box. But since it works so well, I'm keeping the Roku on the bedroom set and ordering a second Roku for a TV that currently has a cable box. My current plan now is to keep only one cable box on our big/main TV and use the Roku on three others in the house. I will be cutting my cable box fees dramatically. We will see over time, if I get used to the small channel change delay on the Roku and be willing to drop the last cable box to save even more money every month.

I really like this Roku stick! I was previously using a Chromecast on the TV that I’d take out to the pool. There were frequent problems with the connection being lost between the phone and the Chromecast. It had a week or unstable connection at that distance. Frequently the Chromecast would overheat and completely shut down. The Chromecast requires the use of your phone to operate which is a bit of a drawback around the pool. I tried the Roku. Wow! The signal is strong, solid and stable. The remote is snappy, simple and well laid out. It has never overheated. Doesn’t require your phone. And, the Roku interface is stellar! If I had to start looking for a new TV, I would definitely be looking at TVs with the Roku interface built in!

Bought this as a birthday gift for my dad. Set up was easy. Everything we needed came in the Roku box. Power cord w/optional extension, batteries for the remote and easy to read instructions. The streaming stick+ gave us several free channels to watch with great content. My dad loved the remote! He has a very old flatscreen tv w/ no factory remote. The Roku remote identified his tv and now he has full control over his tv. He can watch sports, news, and movies in the comfort of his bedroom. The Roku mobile app works great with the streaming stick+ and allows him to listen to his streaming shows privately without disturbing mom late at night. My dad now streams, Netflix, Espn+, Disney+, and Hulu by subscription and free westerns, action shows and older tv shows he likes along with sports news. I was so impressed I purchased the Roku Premium streamer for my own home.

This is the easiest way to stream from multiple sources. I have an older smart tv, but this has everything in one place and the number of channels is amazing. Set-up is super easy even if you’re not a techie. I plan to take this with me when I travel so I’m no longer looking for something to watch when there’s limited cable channels. I also have it hooked-up in my basement for when I’m exercising. Beats watching the news in the morning.

Trying to cut cable cord. The Roku Stick is extremely easy to use. Took less than five minutes to install and use. Picture quality is really good too. But, the best part is the price. VERY affordable.

Roku continues to make it impossible for me to choose Apple TV. The price, portability, and performance is incredible. This edition has volume control on the remote which is a feature that I missed when I purchased, but a pleasant surprise for sure.

This is a cool and discreet Roku stick. Once you plug it in one of your TV's HDMI ports and plug in the power, whether it be by wall socket or your TV's USB ports, then you're ready to go. 4K viewing is awesome, and lots of apps for the cord cutter. Roku has every possible streaming app one can imagine. Also has TV streaming apps like... YouTubeTV, PSVue, DirectTVNow, SlingTV, PhiloTV, FuboTV, Etc. Well, you guys get the point LoL. What ever is your flavor. Roku is not seen, it's hidden behind your TV and the remote easily works without line of sight. Great attachment for cord cutters/streamers, also great for that TV wall mount configuration. I would highly recommend.

This is the best Roku for most people. 4K and HDR like the premiere, but unlike the premiere you get dual band WiFi an RF remote that will also control your tv. Plus it’s in a better stick format that doesn’t have to stick to your TV with a goofy adhesive like the premiere, precisely because RF remote means the stick doesn’t need to be visible. its also extremely weird to be selling any wireless device without 5ghz WiFi support in 2020, but that’s apparently how the premiere gets to a slightly lower price point. The ultra is overkill and the premiere makes some very odd sacrifices. This ones in the sweet spot! Just hope Roku works out it’s disputes with HBO Max and the peacock streaming services, which keep in mind are unavailable on this or any Roku or amazon device.

This Roku works much smoother than the original we had... plus the TV power and volume control works great. When switching channels it works so much faster and the voice command feature really speeds things up. We got this so we could eliminate a 2nd and 3rd Spectrum cable box rental and still watch all the same cable channels on our TV. And it works! The Roku pay for themselves within 5-6 months of what we would pay for extra cable boxes or cable cards. We use our cable company’s free app we downloaded to the Roku and since the main cable box and dvr is in the other room, this app. allows us to play recorded programs while we’re I. It, thanks to Roku, from our downstairs Roku or our bedroom Roku. Plus all the other apps like Netflix, amazon etc. that we’ve downloaded to our Roku so we can watch more free programming. I only wish Verizon Fios would sign up with Roku because Spectrum really Socks you on your TV and internet prices.

This turned out to be an easy was to cut my high cost cable TV in half. We did this while not only retaining all the channels we enjoy watching but also gaining greater options in entertainment. Even though the TV I bought this for is a plasma and not 4K, it is almost eight years old and eventually will be replaced by a 4K TV. Setup was simple. I did order the free HDMI adapter from Roku as the TV is wall mounted and the Roku device was too long to directly plug into the input. With Roku, YouTubeTV and Philo, I have all the content I could possibly need at half the cost of what I was paying for DISH. I highly recommend cutting the cable.

Works OK and streaming is smooth and steady (YouTube TV and Amazon Prime) and picture quality is excellent. But remote has a problem turning the TV off (an Insignia). It turns TV on OK but it won't turn the TV off reliably - it only works once in a while. So I have to use the Insignia TV remote to turn the TV off. It's a shame I still have to use two remotes.

Picked up both devices and decided to keep the Roku Streaming Stick+ for my purposes (PS Vue, Netflix, HBO GO, MLB.TV, NHL TV, etc.) Found the Roku to be very fast and responsive, easy menu to navigate without too much going on....I can organize the apps on the home screen the way I want. Remote was also MUCH better than the Fire TV as it has volume buttons to sync with your TV so I can just use the Roku remote most of the time without having to switch back and forth. Also nice to have the shortcut buttons for PS Vue and Netflix for quick loading. Have had it about a month and no issues at all thus far, would highly recommend if you want something that does what it's supposed to do and does it extremely well.

We are using this in the farthest bedroom upstairs. Our wireless router is downstairs on the opposite end of the house. We have had no problems with the streaming. I love the control button. It has a volume control and a power button for the TV and has preset buttons for netflix, hulu, and vue. I also like the way Roku sets up the display of apps I use and the way it has Vue set up. It is a much nicer setup than the Fire which we also have. Also it has a huge selection of apps to choose from if you just want to browse for apps (for example it has western apps, classic show apps, etc) and a lot of them are free. I am very happy with my Roku streaming stick and am glad I got it instead of another Fire.
