The Beats Studio Buds look really nice, have great battery life, and a very stable connection. Sadly that is where the love story ends for me. The sound is just muddy and the bass is undefined unlike other Beats products I have used in the past. The AirPods Pro have WAY better ANC than these, and even better sound quality which I did not expect. The Beats do stay in my ears well, but the poor ANC and muddy sound just underwhelm.

Noise cancellation feature is the best compared to its competitors. Comfortable to wear for long hours and very user friendly. I bought 2 pairs with 2 different colors for my family. Super cute case and high quality construction.

    Low Volume Complaint Fix

I just bought these at Best Buy and I love them. They are the best bluetooth earbuds I've ever owned. When I was reading the reviews, I saw many complaining of the low volume. I took a gamble on those reviews being over-dramatic, but they were right. The volume was quite low, until I figured out how to fix it. Now they can go loud enough to hurt my ears. The long press of the button on either earbud is preprogrammed to turn the Active Noise Cancelling on and off. I paired them to my iphone, and when I went into the settings on my phone, I was able to reprogram the long press to turn the volume up on the right earbud, and down on the left. If you long press on the right earbud and turn it all the way up, the earbuds volume will go way up. Then you can switch the programming back to the noise cancelling function and just control the volume with your phone, or whatever you pair it with. After I did that, the volume has been great. Sound quality is great. I love them. The noise cancelling and transparency mode are just ok. But I don't know what you can really expect from earbuds this small for this price.

    Didn't work for running

I bought these to replace my AirPods for running because I was sick of dealing with issues with them not connecting and not charging. The fit of these was great, the sound quality was alright (not as good as AirPods IMO). The noice cancelling was great, but I turned it off to run for safety. However, when I wear them to run, all I hear is the vibration from my footsteps over the music, and the sound of wind. I'm not sure why this happens and I never experienced anything like it with AirPods. I've tried adjusting the noice cancellation on and off and nothing seems to help.

Hands down the best headphones I have ever owned. The ANC is awesome I can’t hear anything else when they are in and music is playing, they are comfortable as hell, the style is unmatched. They do not have the special apple chip but who cares. Better than AirPods by a mile.

For what I actually wanted, the Beats Studio Buds are actually quite good. I was looking for an alternative to the AirPods that were similar in their seamless function without too much excess. For some, the fact that the Studio Buds do not have the H1 chip which means they cannot be synced across the devices on your icloud account is a negative and I can see why. For me however, I am glad that they will only sync to a single device, that way they don't get accidentally grabbed by my Mac or Apple Watch when I didn't want that to happen. Suddenly hearing loud dings in my ears because my Watch synced to my AirPods unintentionally has always been very annoying so I actually appreciate that cannot happen with these. This next part is very subjective, but they happen to fit my ears perfectly, I can move a lot or even eat with them in and they don't budge at all, and I can wear them for an entire charge without any discomfort. Both definitely wins in my book. Speaking of battery life, it is as advertised. If using ANC, they last 4-5 hours. If not, they go closer to 7. Considering how small they are and how they stack up to the competition its all about right, Now, the biggest negatives for me and what hold the Beats Studio Buds from greatness are the fact that the case does not support Qi charging, although it at least uses USB-C, and frankly the ANC is abysmal. I cannot tell any difference between having Active Noise Cancellation on or off. I have ensured that I am using the correct size ear pieces and they fit very well, yet the only significant difference with ANC on is it takes a couple hours off the battery life. It's totally useless. I have to check my phone to see if its even on at all. Transparency mode is better, but not entirely necessary since they don't isolate sound very well to begin with. Last complaint is I am told that the sound quality on phone calls is subpar. I can hear everything just fine however the person on the other end says I sound almost staticky compared to other headsets and buds I have and use still. The Beats Studio Buds are a mixed bag. I wanted something similarly easy to use as the AirPods and these check that box. Open the case and sync, then simply pull them out of the case to use. That's it. However, calls aren't perfectly clear, the ANC is a joke, and no wireless charging is a disappointment. On the plus side for me is they fit very well and are super comfortable, they sound good other than a distinct lack of bass, my watch doesn't steal them away and send notification sounds directly into my ear canals, and they look really nice particularly in black. I intend to use them regularly even though they aren't perfect. They work well enough for me.

    Average Earbuds

It seems like Beats decided to change from premium headphones, to budget friendly earbuds. That’s exactly what the Beats Studio Buds are. The box contains just a few items, the charging case, the buds, 3 different size ear tips and a very short USB C charging cable. It would have been nice for them to include a USB C power plug, but I guess that would have made the cost a little higher. The case is fairly small and can fit in your pocket easily without taking up too much space. It does feel kind of cheep with the top just having a thin layer of plastic, which I wouldn’t recommend dropping it. The buds are lightweight, with a matt finish and a glossy button on the top of them. I found that the buds are hard to get a good grip making them slippery to hold on to. It took a few times of adjusting to figure out how they actually go inside my ear, but once I figured it out, they sit in there quit comfortably. There is a small mic on the top end of each earbud, which acts as the passive noise feature. On the end of each bud is a button, the button has several functions such as: pause/play, hold to activate ANC, transparency or off, skip and rewind. The sound quality I would say is mediocre. The buds have a decent amount of bass, really good highs, but fall flat on the mids. Depending on the kind of music you listen to, this can have a huge impact on sound quality. The ANC or active noise canceling, isn’t impressive, and if you plan on trying to use these on an airplane, I wouldn’t recommend them. In fact, I couldn’t even tell the difference between ANC on or off. I took a 2-hour road trip with the family, and with the ANC on, I still had a hard time hearing the music. The same thing can be said about the transparency feature, it doesn’t do a very good job at enhancing the environment sounds. Again, it sounds about the same weather the feature was on or off. The battery is one of the best features about the buds. It does last a good while eve with the ANC or transparency functions on. Plus, with the fast-charging case, 5 mins will give you another solid hour of play time. The best part is, the case can be charged using USB C, which charges it very fast. Overall, I would have to say the Beats Studio Buds are average at best. The sound quality is nothing to brag about, it lacks any sort of mids and at times the highs can be ear piercing. I will say, they are very comfortable to wear, especially for long periods of time. This has to do with the well design of them and the fact that they’re really lightweight. I was really disappointed with the active noise canceling feature, as it doesn’t do that good of a job. I was able to have a full conversation with the ANC turned on and didn’t have any trouble hearing the other person. And the transparency feature, is even worse. The fast-charging case is a really nice feature that gives you plenty of playing time on a single charge. This would be a good starter pair of earbuds, but if you’re expecting killer sound quality with great ANC, I would look for other options.

Pro: -Clear balanced sound -Comfortable -Case is compact Con: -Noise cancelling could be better -Battery life -No wireless charging The earbuds are small and comfortable to wear. It comes with three sets of silicone tips. There’s a button on each side that controls the music, answers calls, and switches between the noise cancelling modes. The buttons are easy to activate, and I find myself pressing them by accident often when adjusting the buds. Pairing them with my iPhone was simple. The first time, there was a prompt on my phone and all I had to do was click on it. To pair more devices, I had to press the button on the case for a few seconds and it went into pairing mode. The charging case is round and compact, and easily fits in my pocket without being bulky. It charges with a USB-C, but does not have wireless charging. It only has one indicator while charging and doesn’t have any battery level indicator so there’s no way to tell how many charges are left. The sound quality is quite good. It’s an overall balanced sound, clear and without too much bass. When listening to instrumentals, it sounds full, and I can hear the distinct sounds clearly. It may not be as good as higher end brands, but to me it sounded fine. Noise cancelling, while not bad, isn’t that great either. It dampens some lower rumbling sound and fan noise, but a good amount is still audible. The difference between normal and noise canceling isn’t that big. The transparency mode works well, but adds a slight hiss. There’s no voice prompts (just a series of beeps) while switching between the noise cancelling modes, so it can be hard to tell if it’s on. Battery life isn’t the greatest. With noise cancelling on, it lasts about 5 hours. The case will provide up to 15 hours of use. If you really need good noise cancelling earbuds, these are probably not it. These will cut down some of the noise, but I have better ones, though at a much higher price point. The sound is clear and is more balanced without emphasizing bass over vocals. Overall audio is good. Battery life could be better, but it’s not too far off from the average.

    An all-around good package

I really didn't know what to expect from these earbuds. I've been trying to find a pair of earbuds I can take everyone. They need to have a small charging case, good battery life, preferably some level of ANC, good audio quality, stay in my ears, and not skip. I tried the new Sony earbuds, but they hurt my ears after 20-30 minutes of listening, the Bose QC earbuds but they were buggy, I tried the new Jaybird earbuds but they never made a seal in my ears so they sounded awful, and the Amazon Echo Buds 2 but they also hurt my ears after a while. I already knew other earbuds from Sennheiser, Master & Dynamic, and Soundcore wouldn't stay in my ears. I gave these a shot thinking they would fall out like the AirPods Pro and regular AirPods do. That hasn't been the case. I can wear these all day without hurting my ears and they stay put when I'm at my desk, walking outside, or bending over and working. The earbuds themselves are light but they're held in by resting on a portion of my outer ear and with the ear tip. I don't feel pressure on my ears while wearing these and they stay in while laying down/reclining. The charging case is small and easily fits in my pockets. I wish it had Qi charging, but USB-C is a nice addition. The magnetic lid is securely held shut and the earbuds take effort to remove. These aren't going anywhere if you drop them. The case is a little larger than the case for the AirPods Pro, I wish they put a larger battery in it. You can recharge the earbuds twice with the case, that's it. The case itself is made from a durable matte plastic. You can see the molding seems in the case, but it isn't a big deal. It isn't as seamless as the cases for the AirPods and AirPods Pro but it's still nice. Total battery life is 24 hours without ANC or transparency or 15 hours with ANC or transparency. The earbuds themselves will last for 8 hours without ANC/transparency and 5 hours with one of those enabled. 5 hours isn't much compared to others. They do gain 1 hour of playback after charging in the case for 5 minutes, so there's that. Still, I wish these could have pushed to 6-8 hours with ANC and 8-10 hours without it (and at least 3 full charges out of the case). The earbuds themselves have new ear tips Beats/Apple made specifically for these. There is a pill-shaped button on each earbud for playback controls. Press once to play/pause/answer a call, twice to skip forward, three times to skip backwards, and hold to toggle between ANC and transparency modes. The physical button feels nice and tactile when using it and the button is the same for both earbuds. You can customize what pressing and holding does, I left mine alone since I'm on an iPhone and these have "Hey, Siri" detection (they don't have "Hey, Google" or "OK, Google" detection on Androids). The Beats Studio Buds support quick pairing with both Androids and iPhones, they'll even show up in the Find My app for iOS and Find My Devices app for Android. You are missing out in quick switching between Apple devices, these don't pair to your iCloud account. They also don't work with spatial audio in video apps, they do work well with spatial audio in Apple Music (if you like that). Their sound quality is somewhere in the middle. The bass isn't as boomy as it is for the PowerBeats Pro but it is detailed. Highs are better on these compared to the PowerBeats Pro. The sound quality is like the AirPods Pro, just with less treble and more bass. I can pick out single instruments and the sound stage is OK for earbuds. These aren't anything special, but they aren't terrible either. The audio quality is fine for everyday earbuds. The ANC leaves room for improvement. It's fine for droning noises but lets in higher pitched noises. The AirPods Pro do a better job of cancelling out highs instead of just muffling them like the Studio Buds. Transparency mode is fine. I can still tell it's processed audio but it isn't bad, I've heard worse from Samsung earbuds. Lastly, Apple put a new Beats chip in these that has a Class 1 Bluetooth 5.2 profile. You'll get a 100ft range on them and, so far, skipping hasn't been an issue for me with my iPhone 12 Pro. I recommend these for anyone looking for a pair of solid everyday earbuds. They work well with Androids and iPhones, have good sound quality, OK noise cancelling, and average battery life. They're stylish, well built, and comfortably stay in my ears. I think Apple has a hit on their hands, I just wish the case had Qi charging.
