This has done exactly what she was looking for ... something to keep the contents of her backpack from touching her MacBook.

Too small for 14" laptop

However the label says it will accommodate a 14 - 15 inch laptop. I recently bought a 14 inch Lenovo and it is hard to get the laptop in and out. I gave up trying to zipper it closed since there is no 'give' to the sleeve and it rubs across the laptop corners. Front storage pocket bulges from the strain of the cord and plug. I'd give it a higher rating if my laptop actually fit comfortably inside it. Only recommending this with the caveat that you 'try it on' before buying.
