Would 100% recommend this for getting great images in direct sunlight along with the ability to adjust the power for low light conditions as well. Just make sure you take the time to learn how to use the flash and practice!

Overall, this product performs as intended: It provides an external flash for a camera at an affordable price. However, when I attached it to my EOS R5 I noticed a lot of issues that had it lagging behind. Firstly: It uses a visible range finder. For the most part this isn't a problem unless you're taking portrait photos and you're shining red cross hatch lasers in your subjects eyes. Then when I tried using the rapid fire function I saw that the 1/250 repeated flash was inaccurate after the first shot. The flash would go off, but the photos show that the flash is too slow to keep up with continuous shooting. Does it perform at lesser work loads? Yes. Can it handle the advertised universal task? NO. If you just need a flash for rare occasions, this is okay. If you are wanting very technical photography this doesn't cut it.

You get what you pay for. First time flash buyer for my mirrorless Nikon. Took a bit of practicing for the settings but if you know about flash controls should not be an issue. On the heavier side.

A little challenging to work with at first. Practice and youtube videos will help. Made a lot of my photos pop more and had to do less editing because of the increase of the light.

WOAH! Okay, I had a flash previously. It busted on the day I had a shoot. I had to go to a super quick solution and picked this up. I am both impressed and amazed with the quality for the price! If you’re just starting out, this is a fantastic product!

Really nice flash, I picked one up because I have a Canon 6D and it doesn't have a flash. I had a wedding to shoot so I bought it for the price. Works well, a little tricky to get use to versus other flashes I've tried. You will need to buy a separate trigger if you plan to do off camera shooting. Great still for hobbyist to intermediate and will save you money!

Excellent off brand external flash that works with our Nikon 5600. Th build is solid and flash is worth every penny. My wife loves this flash and uses it for stylized shoots, weddings and senior portraits.

I have a Nikon kit. My strobe is a Nikon SB-910 which cost me around $480. I wanted to do multi flash Portrait Lighting, but I was not going to spend $1000 for two more Nikon strobes. I saw this Sunpak-DF4000U by accident and studied the packaging. It was selling for $59.99 but claimed to do everything my SB-910 did. I didn’t believe it, but I bought two of them to see what would happen. They worked with my 910. My 910 was the master and the two 4000 were slaves. Using TTL, the exposure was spot on. The 4000 came with a protective pouch, flash defuser, and tripod adapter/ stand. I also bought the light stands, umbrella, umbrella/strobe shoe holder and Panasonic eneloop black rechargeable batteries from Best Buy. The whole setup worked perfectly. It says it can do the same with a Canon kit, I can not confirm or deny that. The only small complaint is that the Nikon plastic is a bit higher grade than the plastic in the Sunpack-DF4000U. However, for a $420 savings on each strobe I’m not worried about it at all.
