The tripod itself is on the light side, which is probably a plus for most people, though I do prefer a more heavy tripod. It features a removable mounting shoe which is great for quickly removing the camera from the tripod for a hand-held shot. The built-in bubble level is a nice touch.

Does the job

The lightweight of the dslr allows this head to be decently smooth. When I have a heavier lens it is obvious that the head is much more rigid and has to be tightened down more.

Good beginner's tripod

It's fairly light and portable, which is good for indoor use with smaller cameras. If you have larger DSLR cameras I would recommend something sturdier.
