I might look elsewhere if I was using it for photography, the left and right swivel action seems a little rough.

But if you are an active photographer and will be using it repeatedly, I do not think it will be durable enough. A lot of plastic parts. If you are going to use it like I do, mount the camera and point it at a mannequin and remotely fire a camera, then this thing ROCKS.

Can be used as a phone mount. Just make sure to secure your camera or phone because it is plastic and low quality. However, It does the job.
