Hot garbage. Thought we got a good thing. Tried to use it for the first time and the piece that holds your camera in place is cheap plastic. We use an Olympus which is one of the lightweight bodies. Had a pro zoom lens and it just fell off. Luckily my hand was there to catch it but unless you're connecting an iPhone to it, leave it in the store.

I think I purchased a return. It does the job and it is easy to use but when you want to turn it around it is not smooth. It does not glide smoothly with the camera on it.

The Sunpak - PlatinumPlus 5858D 58" Tripod - Black is a great product for the price point. We have a tripod at our home in Minneapolis but needed one here in Dallas for a trip we were taking. I would highly recommend this tripod!

Not at all the quality I was expecting. When extending the legs, it felt like they would just snap in half. I returned it.

    A Terrible Tripod

I bought this tripod on sale, and it was a waste. I gave it one star because that is the lowest rating they had. There is nothing good to say about it. It is cheap, poorly made, and flimsy. I am using it to hold a cheap photography light but will replace it soon. I am not sure it can safely hold a camera of any size. I recommend buying something that has a wide enough leg spread and is strong enough to hold a camera with some confidence. I didn't pay much for it and that is what it is worth, not much.

    Poorly Named

Platinum Plus is a poor nomenclature for this tripod. If I had bought it for the normal price of $30 I would have been quite angry at the quality. Instead I'm just disappointed. One of the leg clips just fell apart when I was collapsing it. The threaded part to hook the camera wasn't coming through the top enough to mount anything even after adjusting it. Not worth the time to get it from the store.

Purchased this and a part came broken, returned it and bought again once I tried getting the GoPro on it the clip that holds in the part broke again (on the new one) for it to break on the same spot as my original purchase gave me the clue that it wasn’t just me with the bad luck.
