I mounted a spotting scope to it last week and was pleased with its performance, but it was a little bouncy while adjusting to keep the boat in view.

Seems stable enough for the long zoom digital camera I have. It works fine as long as you are not expecting it to work like a $100 tripod

Great tripod at a great price

Works Like A Charm

But all that doubt went away when I used this Tripod on our trip to the Windy City (Chicago). It really holds the camera good.
