This tall stick is great to capture great nature events that are far away and you need to raise the camera to a higher location that you cannot reach close from standing!

I purchased this monopod as a last minute decision as I was on my way to watch my son's school performance. The last video I had recorded using my point and shoot camera was so shaky that it was pretty much a lost cause. Using the Monopod helped tremendously and it also kept my arms from getting tired from holding the camera up. For the price of this monopod, you can't really complain about it. It gets the job done, it comes with a carrying case (I don't use it) and the weight is not an issue. At first opening and use, the foam handle has the typical stinky smell, but that goes away after letting it air out for about a week.

Not hard to mess up a monopod. This one is good. It has multiple adjustment points, has a strap to hold on to, if needed, and it comes with a case. It gets the job done.

I don't think you really need a fancier monopod, unless your ego requires it. This does the job quite nicely. One of the nicest things, it comes with a zippered case - awesome!
