I purchased it to expand the use of my Surface 3. I like that it charges it while it is being used. The way it docks in place is well thought out.

This Surface 3 dock has been very useful because it has 4 USB ports. I use it daily working with photos, transferring, and external storage. I didn't know that there was a dock for Surface 3 until I saw it on sale.

This docking station has certainly made it easy for the Surface to be connected for a full desktop set-up configuration in the dorm room while maintaining the portability of the device around campus.

Meh, it's nice to have but not totally necessary. It's shaped like 7, if it would fold or come apart for easier transport I'd love it. There should be more USB 3.0 access points than USB 2.0. You can find something similar for less in a universal docking station. if it would have a mount to raise the tablet to a more ergonomic viewing angle it would be great. I'd hold out for a better design by MS of the aftermarket.

Just simply having more USB's is such a relief. Make sure you have a compatible setup to output video. Really takes the Surface to the level of a Desktop Computer.

I got this and it has been exactly what I needed. The additional usb ports and the additional display port. This is a true must have for any surface owner.

I was disappointed, mainly in myself. When I received it I realized it did not have dual monitor capabilities. My bad. I do like the fact that I can just open, grab my surface and go. The new 4 dock require you to connect a cable which is less convenient. Although it has dual monitor support.

When using my Surface I prefer to lock it into the docking station. It is more sturdy and secure and it charges it at the same time.

Everyone that owns a Surface Pro 3 should have this docking station. It is better than the docking station for Surface Pro 4.

I bought this thinking it was for the Surface Pro 3. Make sure you grab the right box!

You can use this for Surface Pro 4, but make sure to get the free sleeve from a Microsoft Store and it will fit perfectly in this version's surface pro dock.

I bought this for my wife and she has really enjoyed this doc. It has worked well and done everything she needed.

Worked as advertised, though it seems as if it caused my Surface 3 to have heat issues when left on 24/7. The unit is bulky and sturdy, but seems to be mostly hollow, which is insulating the tablet. Also, with all this empty space, and for the exorbitant cost, they could have filled the back casing with more USB ports (and why are there any dedicated USB 2.0 ports when the whole thing is running off the Surface 3's USB 3.0 port?) and maybe a display adapter other than miniDisplayPort, like a nice HDMI or perhaps the nearly obligatory on laptop docks VGA. I know, that requires more hardware, but at this price, they should give you more than a very singularly purposed charge cradle.

I have no complaints with the docking station. It was easy to setup and use.

I mainly use this item for a charging station. Just be careful how you place your Surface 3 into the docking station. I can see some damage occurring if you are cautious.
