THe music reminds me of opera or even shakespeare in that it doesn't occur as a result of the plot, but the plot occurs as a result of the music. The music in itself carries the story rather than the random musical sequences you find with some studios. That and i normally hate musicals. Warning, gory and bloody, not a kids movie no matter how big of johnny depp fans they are. This is violent and tragic, but very well done, and in fact very reminiscent of a shakespearian tragedy.

This much requested Christmas gift for a teen was a little gorey, but a great musical overall! Sad storyline with a great cast: a Pirate Captain, a Comedian, a Vampire, Slytherin members, toeless pet rats and more and of course anything directed by Tim Burton is great! Johnny Depp, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jamie Campbell Bower, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter and Timothy Spall, all together for a new cast of characters, what more could you ask for?

I think that Sweeney Todd is the best movie that came out in '07. It's very dark and very funny. The Songs are very Chatchy. I've been humming Pretty Women for months. LoL. The only thing I didn't like about it was how fake the blood looked. I work part time at a blood bank so I know what blood looks like. Tim Burton did a great job remaking this movie and making it his own. Now if only some one could talk him into making a Nightmare Before Christmas 2.

Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is an amazing movie with humor, thrills, and a twistedly clever ending. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter can easily be partners-in-crime in this movie. You can definitely see how much work was put into this movie. Johnny Depp plays a man looking for revenge after all things that were done to him. He then works with Mrs. Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter) on his dastardly deeds.

This movie was terrific! I absolutely loved it. It was funny but also sad. The characters did a great job of singing and acting. Not cheesy at all. Also, the gore is nothing, it's not even gross. It's actually quite funny. It would be a shame if someone didn't buy this movie and the soundtrack. Johnny Depp is pretty sexy in this movie too!!

Imagine the most twisted tale of sadistic revenge and bloody retribution put to music and you have "Sweeney Todd". If you're a horror fan you will like this movie even if you hate musicals. Some parts of the movie are a bit un-nerving for some and may give you nightmares. Do not watch this movie if you are not a serious horror or gore fan.

I Loved this movie I'm not that big of a Musical movie person there are only 4 maybe 5 musicals I have liked & this is in the top 5. Johnny Depp as Sweeny Todd is PERFECTION & Tim Burton's directing is super he keeps getting darker n darker n I LIKE IT :). Helena Bonham Carter is good in everything she does & she out does herself here. Sacha Baron Cohen should have had a longer role he was not in the movie long enough.

I didn't know the background to this movie, so when I watched it I was unaware that it was a musical (found out a broadway musical). I was unprepared for the singing, but pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Everything was very well done. Singing, acting, cinementography (sp?), etc. All actors did a great job. The blood and gore (although very fake) and the synopsis make this a very twisted movie.

I really don't enjoy musicals, for the most part. I didn't expect much from this movie, but given the Oscar hype, Tim Burton direction, and being somewhat of a "gore hound"; I was pleasantly surprised and entertained. In fact, as far as the music, my wife and I found ourselves singing some of the songs a day later, after watching the movie. Mr. Pirelli's Miracle Elixir is catchy.

This movie has the best mix of everything you could want in a movie...suspense, comedy, a great cast, and great music. Although the cast in this movie aren't professional singers vs the cast in the original, they made quite the impression! I highly rscommend this movie!

This is a great movie worth watching. The storyline is not revolutionary, but definitely is worth paying attention to. Johnny Depp, and Helena Bonham Carter top a very talented cast. The songs are fun to listen to. "Pretty Women", and "My Friend" are my personal favorites. If you are a fan of musicals, you must own this movie.

This was an exciting movie! The main characters go about killing people in the bloodiest way and they do so very casually. When we first started the movie, I was annoyed because I HATE musicals and didn't know this was one. As the movie went on, I actually enjoyed the type of music that was in the movie. I really emjoyed this movie.

Tim Burton's best film since "Ed Wood" shows the director at the top of his game. Beautiful photography combined with great characters and music make for a fantastic film. Johnny Depp, Helena Bonhm Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen are perfectly cast in this violent tale of revenge! Highly recommended!

I usually dislike musicals, but Sweeney Todd is gold (probably due to the fact it's Johnny Depp and Tim Burton). The style is all very dark and cool looking. Everyone does a good job singing. And of course the violence is entertaining. There's nothing I can pinpoint that is bad about this movie. It's all good

This movies was definitely worth the money. I really enjoyed it though at first I wasn't too sure because of the singing. But the singing made it even more enjoyable. I thought it was also funny how some other characters from Harry Potter appeared and that they can actually sing! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!

If you enjoy Tim Burton's work then you'll love this movie. It's another brilliant turnout from the duo of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. They always work well together and this movie is no different. I was apprehensive about this one since Depp isn't much of a singer, but the movie was fantastic.

I absolutely love/adore this movie. Johnny Depp has such an amazing voice. The characters really make you feel what they are going through. It's one of those movies that even if you aren't a musical kinda person, you'll enjoy it.

This is the greatest movie ever! Well aside from Titanic and Twilight. I really loved that Johnny and Helena were in another movie again. They have such chemistry in the scenes. I even liked the music and I normally hate musicals. This is in my opinion, Johnny Depp's best movie so far!

Another great movie for Johnny Depp & Tim Burton.I don't even like musicals,but this one kept my attention the entire time.The singing was pretty good & catchy (I own the soundtrack as well).I loved everything about the movie.

This is one of Tim Burton's best movies. Johnny Depp is amazing. The story is amazing. If you liked the stage performance you'll love this one. Special Features on the DVD are also very good and fun to watch.
