Amazing in comparison
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I recently Purchased this backpack for school, and I loved the many features it includes, excessive space, perfect for college and high school students who want to keep organized and never have to worry about space. The main pocket for folders and binders fits about two 1 inch binders and 3-4 notebooks fairly well, once again it is padded, and the backpack has been designed to stand up when set down with a 90 degree angled bottom. This backpack is very well made in comparison to the average backpack, the padding is fairly thick for your laptop computers, it has a deep media pocket perfect for an Ipod, cell phone, wallet, keys, and it even fits my glasses case comfortably. The handle at the top is a steel bar reinforced and designed (covered) with padded material. The backpacks appearance is exceptional. This backpack has many more great features, yet there are too many for me to go into detail about, I definitely would recommend looking into this backpack to see if it suits you. OVERALL LOTS OF SPACE, VERY WELL MADE (Very well padded compared to the competition), VERY GOOD LOOK, and so far all in one piece. I expect to have this backpack for years to come, and am content with the buy.

Indestructable, comfortable, great for travellers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You may think this is a pricy laptop bag but I have had mine for nearly 4 years doing over 200k air miles, bouncing around in buses and trucks in scummy destinations overseas and even cycling to work with it on my back and it has been with me all the way. I have had a succession of different laptops (15.6" screens) and they have all been protected by the cushioned pocket (laptop upgrades, no damages). There are numerous pockets for organising files, pens, documents, iPods, water bottles etc. There is a fold down internal flap that expand sthe main pocket out another 6 inches that is great to encompass large files (and a second laptop when I take my personal one on business trips!). The armoured handle has managed to handle severe strain over the years ( my record weigh in at the airport was a whopping 17kg - 38lb of Files, laptop, adapters and Duty Free booze!). The straps and the vented spongy back are comfortable and back friendly. After lots of desert travelling on one trip the back cushion was getting dirty and smelly so I put it in the washing machine and the whole thing came out like new. After all this time I was thinking of getting an 'upgrade' to the new blue Swiss Ibex model but I decided to keep this one. Apart from a small tear on the foam grip that cushions the cable handle you would not know the vintage of the bag. If you do lots of travelling and want a sturdy backpack/laptop bag this is definately the one. This is why you see many of these in the oil industry - mine is called George :-)

||Posted . Ok. Fabric will come loose around zipper
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very happy with this bag until the fabric between the laptop compartment and the sunglasses compartment (on top) started coming apart. Fabric threads keep getting caught in the zipper. Holding it by the top handle will cause this rip. These backpacks used to be better.

Over a year old and no issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great backpack. Had all the features I was looking for plus plenty of easy access storage spaces. has outside storage for two water bottle (I usually carry two 20 ounce bottles, but could fit a bit larger or smaller size in the web netting pouches. Good padding where needed. Plenty of small zippered web netting pouches inside and near top openings for easy access to smaller items like Bluetooth headsets, flash drives, etc. Larger middle area for all the power supplies, battery backup, external USB drives, cables, etc. Has held up well.

Meh
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was replacing my last laptop backpack so I went with the most recent design of the same one, and it seems like the new design incorporated some cost savings devices that were unexpected and disappointing. Still a very functional backpack, but I am disappointed.

Great backpack
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would recommend this to anyone who needs a backpack. It really has impressed me, one of the most durable backpacks I have ever owned. You can fit almost everything in it but still find more room. Really light weight and comfortable even with everything in it. Took it with me over to Europe, protected my laptop and kept all my other things secure. If you want to protect your laptop and have lots of room without looking like your hiking a mountain then this is a great one.

Amazing Backpack!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK, I admit it, this is a pricey backpack. I read the great reviews of it online but wasn't going to buy it due to the price. When I saw it at the store however, I saw why it cost a lot. It just may be the ultimate computer backpack. It offers great protection for your computer, but also an incredible amount of space for everything else you need. There are pockets everywhere it seems. The padding is wonderful too. Even fully loaded, it is comfortable to carry. This is definitely a case of getting what you pay for. If you are in doubt, check it out at one of the stores. You'll be convinced.

Wow!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always used backpacks to carry all my daily gear since high school. After buying my first laptop, a Gateway NV52, i decided to get a pack that was made for a computer to protect my investment. A fellow photographer suggested this pack from Swiss Gear. I must admidt, the price was a bit of a shock, but after 2 months I can definetly say that this bag is well worth the money. I can get my notebook, camera, lenses, and all of the things i need through the workday(iPod, GPS, power cables, etc.). it is very rugged, well crafted, and has modern styling. This bag has huge pockets and compartments to hold all your gear and keep it organized. my favorite feature is the quick access pocket located at the top of the bag, where there is a port for your headphones and space to hold one of my cameras ready at all times. No matter if you're a student or a profesional working in the field, this is a great pack to have.

Doesn't last long
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a honest review. I waited nearly 2 years to write this review. This is my 1st swissgear product and I'm not happy with my purchase. I only use this product for traveling and mostly for domestic travel. Most of the threads had gone and the zip on top of the bag is gone within the first 8 months.

Breaks easy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The logo on the front ripped off and can not be repaired front pouches useless and logo dangles around. Not wise to buy for a High School Student . Nice storage is wasted.

Needs better zipper
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the way this bag was laid out, but the main zipper for PC broke three times. Perhaps I'm too rough on a bag, but I need a better zipper. Moved to another manufacturer

May be the last bag you need to buy.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned mine for nearly 15 years. Still looks and works great. Great as a one item carryon bag as I can fit my laptop and other business necessities, toiletry kit and a change of clothes...just in case. Or if attending conferences, it's great for getting lots of vendor giveaway stuff. Multiple pockets, including zippered inner pockets for secure storage make it practical and versatile. About 5 years ago I bought a smaller version with a single large compartment, good for daily commuting. Its durability is second to none.

Too much
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a nice backpack but it weighed so much already that when I had school books in it it nearly killed my back. Also way too many pockets.
