I purchased this for a road trip with my young granddaughter. It work great kept her occupied on the long drive

This was a gift. The first exchanged; DVD door did not fit snug.The second one has the same fault. The gap is more then enough to allow dust to get into unit. Especially true when disc is in use. The high speed of disc creates negative pressure to pull fine dust into unit. Dust is the #1 problem for discs and workings of players. This is one of many problems. The disc takes too long to stop moving with power on. It takes even longer with power off. The high speed of the disc can cause harm to careless hands or fingers. Force stopping can damage disc and unit. The remote is a near necessity to operate unit. There is no way to check battery level. The disc does not resume playing at last stop. The sound is poor. The screen can be tilted or turned to a variety of positions. The problem is that the unit is very light weight. It needs to be secured to avoid over balancing. I am returning this second unit for a different brand or refund.

I bought this Sylvania 10 Portable DVD Player - Model: SDVD1030, as a gift for my father. I went to see him the day before yesterday and he advised me the DVD player does not work correctly. Once you load the DVD and close the cover, the DVD wont always play, and if it does play, the slightest bump will cause the DVD to stop and restart from the beginning. Looking closely at the device, it seems that the cover that closes the DVD is warped and will not close tightly. I noticed that if you press and hold it down, it corrects the problem... but that in itself is a problem. I didn't buy the DVD player so that my father could hold the DVD lid down the whole time while he watches a movie. I went to BestBuy yesterday to return the product but I was already over my return period. They did advise me that the product was still under warrantee with Sylvania and that you could authorize the return due to the defectiveness of the product. I called Sylvania and they want me to pay to have the product sent back, on top of a $7 fee and then they will only fix it, not return it.... So - I buy a defective item , nether BestBuy or the manufacturer will give me my money back, instead they want me to shell out more money..... huh? This will be my last purchase at BestBuy or any Sylvania products, including light bulbs.

Perfect screen size for watching movies in the car or watching quietly while everyone else is watching somethiing else

Works great and love the fact that it has a remote. Used for 4 hours without a plug and never had any issues with battery.

put brand new dvd in it. played for half of it then froze. tried another new dvd and would not work at all.

Pretty nice product for the price, dose not skip when riding.

So when I got this went to set it up and found out no charger came with it when it says that it does Best But wouldn't do anything about it because it was over 15 days and it was a gift for our kids. Also the picture gets fuzzy or patchy when the movie plays even when on a table and nothing is moving it. Really disappointed

I got this on sale and it's a great portable DVD player for the value!

This DVD player stopped playing most discs in less than 2 months, it feels pretty cheaply made and performed just as cheaply. I wouldn't buy it if I were you.
