Had a George Forman grill for years and didn't use it because food had a weird taste. So far I have tried Pork Chops Steaks and Chicken. Cooks even and does all the work for you without the long clean up of cooking outside. Won't ever replace the outside grill but I won't be cooking outside when it's -4.

This grill will prepare your steaks (and lots of other things) to perfection! It makes a home cooked steak taste like an expensive restaurant steak! Cooks from both sides of the meat at the same time - no need to turn the steak. I find the lights that tell you how done it is a little tricky to get used to, but worth the learning curve. And for all you skeptics - yes, you can pull a steak out of the freezer and place it right on the grill. As advertised, the grill will thaw the meat and then cook it just as if you had planned ahead and thawed it out before it was time to cook.

The optic grill is a grill with a brain. This grill is so much better than a George Foreman. So easy to grill and clean. Cooks steaks to perfection, no guessing.

The grill is a little expensive but it works. I purchased it as a gift. Great for a new cook so she doesn't overcook her food. She likes it.

I was hesitant about purchasing this grill, especially after reading some reviews about how the "optimum mode" (aka the whole reason you purchase the thing) would eventually stop working and you would only be able to use "manual mode." Well the first few times I used it, the machine worked just as intended. It cooked both frozen food as well as defrosted meats perfectly and in quick time. Then I was cooking one night and I wasn't hearing the beep to alert me that the grill was ready to cook only to recognize that it was in "manual mode." So I lifted the lid and put it back down, set the parameters and once again it flipped back to "manual mode." It was then that I realized that the lid and base, which are detachable for cleaning, didn't seem to be perfectly seated. So I adjusted and tried again. After that no issues. For those curious, the review I read about the optimum mode not working the reviewer stated that they called T-Fal and they walked them through the steps to re-calibrate. Simple lesson is most things are fixable if given a little time and effort.

This has got to be the best kitchen appliance I have ever purchased (and I have purchased a lot over the years). My favorite function is the ability to take a steak, pork chop, fish, or chicken straight from the freezer and know it will be defrosted and cooked beautifully by my T-Fal OptiGrill. Very convenient and easy to clean up.
