Did not work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product after the sales associate told me how well it worked. I saw that the package looked to be opened and she assured me that it was fine (only one available). Tried it at my destination, but would not work. Took it to another Best Buy and was told that it was defiective and should not have been sold. She replaced with a new one. Tried this one, and still would not work. Total waste of money.

T-Mobile Network Hotspot Is Not Satisfactory
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.T-Mobile ZTE 4G No-Contract Mobile Hotspot offers barely average Wi-Fi performance for those users accustomed to dependable connectivity and fast internet speeds. My family and I found it quite surprising that it had worked at all, since we've purchased other ZTE 4G LTE Mobile Hotspots(priced at two or so times above this device's cost) directly from T-Mobile, and every device shipped to us proved defective. The defects were generally at the site where a SIM card is to be inserted; hence, a SIM card is unrecognized. The very best point of this particular device is its pricing of $50. However, the very worst aspects customers will discover are with T-Mobile's horribly inferior services. T-Mobile's representatives and supervisors(my family has attempted to reason with dozens of their employees) are grossly incompetent and either falsely polite or overtly rude. Each time we've reached out to receive necessary support from T-Mobile, they placed us on excessively lengthy holds, then returned to transfer us from department to department, and eventually disconnected a majority of our calls. As we expended hours upon hours to resolve both service and pricing related issues, the eventual result had been that they sent one defective device after another. Additionally, they repeatedly charged our credit cards hundreds of dollars over and over, often without our consent, and claims filed with our credit card company could not sufficiently persuade T-Mobile to furnish full refunds. Indeed, investigations continue to hopefully recover these wrongful charges. The fact pertaining to the device's W-Fi dependability is that whether it is this specific ZTE Hotspot or another, T-Mobile has a policy of slowing down the data speed from 4G to 3G to zero, while a customer is in the process of using their service. Though, we were certainly not adequately satisfied with this device; T-Mobile is definitely at the root of the problems. In our perspectives, any device compatible with the T-Mobile network is just not worth their overall low standards and services. Surely, serious internet consumers will not be pleased with T-Mobile. Not recommended to fellow customers!!!

Pretty Easy to Set Up and Use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mostly I think T-Mobile's customer service is great. I do not get the feeling its reps are trying to shake me down for more money the way I have felt Verizon and Cricket's reps do. The double talk from Verizon that one gets is particularly exhausting. T-Mobile is day where Verizon is night, as far as I am concerned. I am in the countryside. I checked a few times with T-Mobile about connection. My new hotspot is connecting well. Not perfect -- like 99% of the time it is perfect and 1% of the time things slow a bit. I am using a new Chromebook with this hotspot. My T-Mobile hotspot internet connection is many times more fast and more reliable than my old wireless Cricket modem connected to my old desktop computer. T-Mobile is also less expensive for the amount of data I use (about 3 Gbytes per month). The Z64 hotspot uses a type of Li-Ion battery known as a Lithium Polymer battery. Guidance on the net says to charge such batteries to about 80% and let discharge to about 40% for maximum battery life. When the battery dies, I may end up using just the AC charger. The battery is expensive. I am frugal and not into all the bells and whistles that every day the marketplace seems to offer for computers and internet connection. Mostly because the improvement is so minimal. I am happy with the T-Mobile Z64 hotspot.

Good Device and Plans but HORRIBLE Support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I purchased this device, I planned to use it as my primary internet connection since I travel a lot and needed to cut the cable with Charter Spectrum. Customer service activated the plan that I told them I could afford, which was a $60.00 card. They provided me with very little options and gladly took $50.00 for 7 gigs. I found out later that I could have enjoyed 10 gigs for $50.00 but even though I was trying to add a card on file, I was told that I had to wait until the second month of service in order to have any kind of auto payment. I set up auto pay the second month, still having almost one gig of high speed data remaining, and it was deleted, lost or taken off my account! My complaints were not handled well. I had to call T-Mobile 31 times in order to ask questions about what had happened just to understand the situation weather it was repairable, or something I just missed in the fine print. The worse part about this was that I kept having to be transferred to "specialist" after specialist, who would transfer me again, and again and again, and even though I patiently waited with the Bluetooth in my ear, working around the yard, I would be disconnected time and time again, only to have the system restart on me, making me have to tell my story all over again to someone new that would then in turn do the very same thing to me again and again. After 28 days, I finally had the question answered... being that they didn't mean to do that, and had admitted to making a mistake, they gave me a $20.00 credit which amounted to more than the data I lost. That being said, there was another issue that is still happening to me right now, as I type this review. Just because you buy high speed data, are in a good 4G signal area does not mean you will be getting high speed data. Many times the speed will slow or speed up at times that are not warranted. In one particular instance, I had the data top out at almost 8 megabits per second, and for more than two weeks after my high speed data was gone. I USED 184 Gigabytes downloading and uploading at will! My point here is that they have a very poor management system. For you and for them. Am I going to switch? No. This is the best deal for mobile hot spot that you will find. But if you plan on using it a lot, prepare to be disappointed!

Great portable hotspot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this hotspot after having a nightmare experience with Virgin Mobile. What a difference! Far superior product, plan value, and customer service. It's very reliable and ideal for portable internet, just don't watch too many videos, which will use up a lot of your GB.

easy to use, kind of hard to uncover
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It still working good since I bought in October last year. At first, I had to ask a Best Buy associate to open the cover. It's kind of slippery to force the back out. Other than that, it serves its' purpose.

Incompatible with new T-Mobile 4G
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This hotspot is advertized by T-mobile as being 4G compatible. I checked the coverage map and I am firmly in their good to excelent range. I am in Maine. The hotspot would only connect at 2G. T-mobile tech support told me the towers in my area had been upgraded to a new type of 4G and this modem was no longer compatible. I was advised to get a Falcon 917. I did it works fine. In the middle of all this a helpful representative from India suggested I buy the same hotspot which T-mobile support had just told me would not work. I can only imagine what it's like to work for them. I returned the hotspot to Best Buy and they were gracious enough but seemed un interested that they had just sold me a product which had no chance of working in the immediate vicinity.
