A Huge Upgrade Over Previous Models

We have owned previous models of the Tablo. Pretty much everything about the new iteration is superior to the old - loading speed, the guide (which is now free), channel selection, and so on. It's also easier to set up and has better connectivity.

I attempted to connect to the Tablo using the windows app and then the android app. While using the android app I received the message “an unknown error has occurred if the problem persists, please contact support (the phone number and e-mail address was given for support). I then opted to use the windows app on the Microsoft store. I downloaded and installed the Tablo app from the Microsoft software store. The Microsoft app directed me to connect to the wifi name of Tablo_xxx. I connected to wifi name Tablo_9677, and disabled the windows firewall for 1 hour. The Microsoft app was unable to find the Tablo. I attempted an HTT connection using chrome web browser to the default gateway of 192.168.10.1, however the web page only said “Nuvyyo Tablo Server”. The directions in the Tablo app from Microsoft were no help at all. I was unable to connect to the Tablo with the android app nor the windows app. At 9:43pm MDT I placed a call to Tablo support. After one hour of hold time, I get the recorded message, “there are no agents available to take your call. Please call back later.” In the end, the only app that was able to connect to the Tablo was the chrome web browser, but that default page had nothing to click on. I could do nothing but be frustrated with the junk Tablo I had purchased from Best Buy. Ladies and gentlemen, I can not recommend you purchase a Tablo, because setup wizard does not work, and therefore, the Tablo does not operate.

Why are my recordings not in HD

While I appreciate that it records 2 shows/movies, simultaneously, recording in a bit of less than standard definition is a huge let down (I have a strong internet connection and a good antenna). All the content looks in high definition when I plug my antenna directly to my TV and use the built in, complimentary internet tv service from my tv brand… when I don’t use the Tablo. The interface look very nice and easy to navigate, but switching between channels feel like an eternity. I thought I had found something better than a cable TV dvr which takes your recordings from you as soon as you end the service. I love That I get to keep my recordings, but the quality leave so much to be desired.

If you already have an antenna running into your house, but have a room the antenna cable doesn’t go into. This device is for you, plug your antenna cables into Tablo and then use WiFi to connect to other TV’s in your house. Plus Tablo can Record your favorite shows. Awesome.

I've had my tablo for a month, so far it works as supposed to. I can record my shows and watch at later time. I am able to receive 133 channels using an indoor hdtv antenna. Only complait is the guide seems to be slow when trying to advance through it

OTA at its best. Also a guide and dvr that lets you see two weeks out. My pic shows a 500gb ssd. also attached to increase storage to well over 200 hrs. 50 hrs without it.

Why did I not know there were devices like this! I set it up in a good signal area with an antenna and i can watch and record all my local channels. No streaming service needed. Best thing is that as along as I have the app on my phone I can watch my local channel anywhere. Plus, record live tv.

What really won me over is just how seamless it feels. I plug my existing antenna into the Tablo, connect it to my Wi-Fi, and suddenly, all my local channels are streaming wirelessly to my phone, my tablet, and even my smart TV. No messy cables running across the room, no confusing menus—it just works. And the fact that there are absolutely no monthly subscription fees? That’s a relief I didn’t know I needed.

Obtained this item in order to distribute my antenna channels to 4 TVs instead of running many coax cables. After some difficulty getting the unit to register with Tablo, I have set up the app on all 4 TVs and am enjoying my local channels.

It sounds too good to be true, but it really works! I placed the antenna in the best location in my house and placed the Tablo next to it. It broadcast the signal to the Tablo app on my Roku, via WiFi. No need to pull coaxial cables all over the house or make holes in the walls. I am quite happy not having to pay the ever increasing $35+ broadcast fee on the cable, which I promptly cut. (As a bonus, the Tablo app gives me quite a few internet streaming channels, in addition to the over-the-air ones. Cannot record those freebies though :) )

Great replacement for my rented cable DVR, but needs to be able to speed up the “fast forward” feature, just a little slow ( but still not bad for a non-rental”

It works great for a while, but then it freezes up. Sometimes just the picture freezes, but not sound. Other times the whole thing just crashes and I have to leave the channel and go back to it, or leave the app entirely. This is quite a nuisance and has led us to not use it so much. Hopefully, it resolves after some software updates, but it hasn't been the savior I wanted it to be from pricey streaming services.

I really, really like this device, but... the software for streaming for Roku and FireTV is kludgy. Sometimes to change channels I need to shut the app down, once I even had to reboot my Roku box. I also think the tuner isn't very sensitive. If you don't have an extremely strong signal, it won't recognize the channel. I guess I had to wrangle it into submission, but it suits my situation and has worked well since I got it all figured out. I put an old 2tb drive on it and it does DVR really well and it's nice to be able to back up or pause a live broadcast. I also bought a SiliconDust but I took it back and kept the tablo.

Replaced my Fire Recast due to hardware issues that Amazon could not fix. This is pretty good but not the most responsive and sometimes buffers and doesn't load a channel.

      Hello,

Buffering can be due to a Wi-Fi slowdown. Troubleshooting that should resolve the issue. TabloTV
