Good inexpensive replacement for FireTV Replay
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for use with an Insignia FireTV, replacing a FireTV Replay. As expected, it doesn't integrate as seamlessly with the FireTV as the Replay does, but the Tablo app was easy enough to use once we got used to it. The channel scan found quite a few more channels than the Replay using the same antenna, and the reception seems to be better--I don't get the drop-out that was pretty common when using the Replay as a tuner. I've recorded and played back a couple NFL games without a hitch, so I'm happy with this purchase. It's not completely perfect; the initial setup was a little glitchy, and the app crashes now and then when I try to open it for the first time, but it's nothing I can't live with. I haven't tried adding additional storage or using the included free streaming channels yet.

Nice DVR
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much better than an older (different brand) that I had. Skipping commercials is a breeze. Only thing I don’t like is that it’s not compatible with my new LG OLED tv, so I have to use a fire stick to stream

Constant connection issues
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not very stable. Won't connect half the time both to my Roku Ultra or my Samsung TV. Fails often when trying to watch a show while its recording. When it works, its ok... just ok.

Posted .Sorry you're running into that.
If your Tablo isn't connected via Ethernet, try connecting it that way, it may help.

I love this product
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The setup is fairly easy. And I enjoy using it, now I only have to have one antenna for my 4 TVs. I do have to say it works well with Roku, but using throught AppleTV you get more features, like looking through channels and still being able to watch the channel you're on.

Works Well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this so I could use an antenna to get OTA channels that my streaming provide would not offer. This makes it so I can use one antenna for all my devices through a convenient app. If you are looking to cut our cable I would recommend

Its Just OK
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish it supported PC and remote viewing. Also I spend hours trying to get all my local channels repositioning my antenna just to realize I got them all if I connect directly to TV instead. I stopped using it months ago and just watch local channels on one dedicated TV. Its a shame that the Tablo filter is more restrictive or there is some interference with the power/data cables.

Posted .Sorry your ran into that issue Eric.
It's possible that the cause is a weak TV signal.
Your TV likely has a signal tuner, where your Tablo has at least two. Tuners are great in that they allow you to play/record multiple channels at once, however, they also split your signal. A more powerful TV antenna may be just thetrick to get your Tablo working.
The other option, if you live very near to your broadcast towers, is that the Tablo's built in TV amplifier is making your signal too strong. In this case, if you go settings you can switch it off and that may resolve the issue.

Good value for the price
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a Sling Air first generation that was showing its age. I also got tired of scrolling through Sling screens to see recorded videos. The only thing keeping this from five stars is lack of ATSC 3.0 support and it sometimes takes the Home Screen a bit of time to load

Good, but wish it supported more OS.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had some really high hopes for this device, and honestly I can't say there was anything wrong with it...it just does not support my Samsung TV, which runs Tizen OS and not Android (which is what I thought it ran). Easy to setup (and take down once you realize it doesn't work with your tv...).

Not reliable
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although the devise was simple to set up, it was not very reliable. Using the DVR function would often lead to partial recordings. After a couple of weeks, the device could no longer be found by the smart tv nor the app on iphone. Going to reset and try again but frustrated that I need to do that.

Almost there - but I had to return it
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device offers a number of great features. Easy setup, free programming guide, strong tuner signal, onboard storage for recordings, option to add external storage via usb, local over the air channels are combined with a lot more of online digital streaming channels. There are two things I didn’t like about it, not being able to export the recordings or stream outside the home network. Although I didn’t like these restrictions, I was still pleased with the Tablo. I ended up returning it because the app would lose communication with the device at least twice a week, requiring to reboot it. Sometimes killing the app would worm, other times I had to walk over to the device and physically reboot it since there’s no way to do it through the app. I really wanted to keep it. But, I grew frustrated with the constant disconnect between the app and the device. I hope they get this issue fixed with future upgrades.

Does exactly what we needed it to do.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device is exactly what we needed. While we are fairly close to broadcast antennas, we needed to place our TV antennas near a window because of the thick brick exterior of our building. TVs were not in the right spot for this however, and running coax wasn’t practical. Built-in DVR is a plus!

DVR
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned it because it requires a hard wire to my wifi, which is in my home office and a hard wire to my antenna, which is in my recreation room. All I want is a recorder of broadcast TV that connects to my upstairs TV and my antenna, both of which are in my recreation room.
