It's Complicated
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice device but can be complicated to setup and you have to download an app on your phone and setup there as well, compared to Roku plug and watch.

Very impressed
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good option for multiple TV’s. Easy to set up. I’m using it along with Roku and get all the channels we need. Great option for free tv. Wish I would have heard of this option years ago. The savings by not using cable is $120/month.

Watch Local TV When You Want With No Monthly Fee
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's great to record over-the-air TV shows to watch later. You can also watch over-the-air TV shows live through Tablo, especially if you have only one antenna. (Some cable companies charge extra for local channels.) My Tablo has excellent resolution, so I have a great picture. If you wish, you can wall-mount Tablo. I have mine on a small table near the TV.

This model not compatible
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The latest version of Gen 4 requires new app. The new app is not available for LG webOS, XBox or Windows App store. These are the platforms all previously supported in the old Tablo. This will only work with chromcast roku or apple tv. Also as soon I plugged it in I lost several channels.

Tablo 4th gen
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still a bit buggy. It freezes too often so you need to exit Tablo or force stop it on fire stick. I've had to unplug it to reset once during the short time I have owned it. The best feature is you don't have to pay for programing.

Very good product. Enjoy it immensely.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With the antenna I bought to attach to it; it pulls in and records all my local channels. I actually need more storage so eventually I will buy an 8 TB external hard drive to hook up to it.

Piece of junk
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If i could give this piece of junk zero stars I would. It sort of worked the first few months although at a beta test level. Lately though it has become totally worthless. I run this as a Roku channel which is supposed to be supported. Now we watch Live TV for about a minute and then it goes back to the Roku channel select screen. Before that started happening it would jump back to the Tablo set-up screen. No error messages...nothing. Customer support is non existent. It says hold time is 14-17 minutes and then after waiting for a tech support agent for about an hour a recorded message saying that no agents are available to take your call and to try again later. Then disconnects. So I now have a $100 paperweight. Avoid this piece of c#&p.

MANURE a good word for this thing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great sometimes. Then loses connection and you have to do setup all over again. Especially when you wanted it to record a big game. Happened too many times for me to keep this ****.

Disappointed, poor reception compared to old Tablo
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I swapped out an older legacy dual tuner Tablo. I was hoping that there would be improved tuners in the newer 4th Gen model and was willing to give up the commercial skip feature of the old Tablo in order to get better/updated hardware. Unfortunately the Tablo 4th Gen is only finding about 30 channels, and they are the channels I normally exclude on the older Tablo. None of my favored channels are coming in on the new tuner. This is using the exact same antenna setup which was working well before. The internal antenna amplification makes no difference (on or off). So I am going back to the old Tablo, or maybe dropping it altogether. This one is going back unfortunately.

Good or not good?
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like having the Tablo but don’t like have to use my phone or tablet to search channels, etc. It kinda limits where you can watch tv or if I’m gone with my phone, my family can’t watch…..

Could have been good.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device’s ability to select, watch or record anything coming over your antenna is dependent on its guide being A) available and B) accurate. Since the Tablo guide is constantly missing data, displaying junk data or outright inaccurate data it’s unusable for it’ intended purposefrequently. Additionally, this device runs scarily hot and regularly loses some or all of it’s functions. Save your money until something less bug infested cones along. If you buy this you’re paying $100+ for the privelege of beta testing a device that should never had been allowed by Tablo to be sold. A frustrating unreliable mess. Zero stars. Stay away.

Not good, even if better than others
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the device since November 2023. There are major issues with core functionality: 1. On many channels the video will freeze while the audio keeps playing for both live TV and for recordings. 2. When you try to fast forward more than about a minute at a time on longer recordings (like a football game, basektball game, or movie), the player will not resume playing, presenting you with the still image and a loading spinner. Besides these core issues, there are several user experience issues. 1. Navigation to recordings includes extra unnecessary steps. You have to navigate past a "show the most recent recording" to get to a list of recurring recordings. Just show me the whole list of recordings and I am smart enough to pick which I want to watch. 2. Setting up a recording is about as round-about as watching one. The options for pre-show and post-show buffers aren't on the main recording screen, so you have to go searching for them. This is the second over-the-air DVR I have purchased, and while it is better than the first I bought, it still leaves much to be desired. I would not purchase again and would return the one I have if I could.

Worth the money!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hookup procedure was pretty straightforward, and once that was done, it has worked very well. I love that you can schedule recording programs up to 2 weeks in advance. Playback is smooth and I have had no issues with it.

Nice DVR!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works nicely on iPhone, iPad, Fire TV. Replacing my old Fire TV recast and this is nice. One drawback - it doesn't stream outside the house (yet?... requires Tablo to make a change to stream a different way in firmware).
