    Cable cutters dream

I pair this up with a outside antenna. I activated it with with the Ethernet port with no problem. It has quirks, it freezes, it sometimes won't delete a program. I also can record programs on over 80 channels. I paid less than 1 month of the cost of cable to do the same thing. I wish mine had 4 tuners as they have for sale now because there are times I can not record all the programs I wish to. Tablo 4th is money well spent.

This little device is going to save me a ton of money. I have had it for two weeks. I paired it with the Clearstream 4Max Antenna and I love it. I will say that I needed to switch from wifi to ethernet in order to get the best streaming performance. The interface is terrific. Way better than the xfinity interface that I used to have. I really can't believe that I didn't buy this sooner

It works ok but they like a lot of attention. I can’t seem to ff or rewind recordings and they like the same wifi network name. Of course it doesn’t require a subscription while most if them do.

We bought this for Christmas, thought it would be great to be able to record, pause, stop, rewind and fast forward. BUT, we noticed when a program is done and you want to go to another channel it freezes, you have to back out and start all over, we usually miss the first 5 mins of the next show. sometimes it goes to the set up screen

    Doesn't work well

I bought this product at a local retailer to replace my first Tablo. It doesn't work! You need an Ios phone to setup the Wi-Fi, it doesn't work with my Roku stick and it's failing on recordings. They claim that this will all be fixed in a future software release, but they should have released a finished product. A recent software update made an improvement on buffering problems, but it is still struggling to connect to my network by ethernet. Recordings stop randomly. I have to reboot daily and restart my network. The 1st generation worked great.

    Excellent OTA DVR device!

The 4th gen Tablo is a wonderful OTA DVR device. The recordings are very high quality. It's imposdible to differentiate between a recoding and live tv (except you can fast forward trough commercials). We love the detailed programming guide, it rivals the guide provided be the cable and satellite providers.

    Need to improve menu.

When it works it is great. Small enough to locate in communications cabinet and Ethernet connect to router. I have experienced issues with menu such as not being allowed to record an NFL game and having difficulties recording a single game and not a series of games. I would recommend the 4 tuner model because it anything is recording you do not get video when fast forwarding through commercials.

Works great! My indoor antenna is a little sketchy, but when the weather’s good the Tablo works perfectly. I use the IOS & FireTV clients via WiFi. Nice UI & makes access to the device easy. Streams hours & hours of OTA programming w/o any issues. It’s been a solid performer. Def recommend.

The Tablo device was relatively easy to install and operate. I use my existing Roku device to control it. It's nice to record programs and play them back when our schedule is better. Video quality is fine.

Doesn't work (for me at least).

I don't know if I got a faulty unit or if this thing just is terrible. I've spent the better part of the last twelve hours trying to get it to work. I finally got it up and running and the guide loaded, but it kept becoming unresponsive after I'd schedule a recording and I would have to wait two or three minutes for it to allow me to schedule another recording. The final straw was when I checked the recordings it did today all I had were multiple 2 or 3 minute snippets of the shows. I then tried to watch a program live and it kept timing out. These are channels that my Tivo picks up and records and streams without issue. I am returning this unit and continue with the set up that I have now. Maybe I'll give it another change in a year or two.

Do not buy. No real support from Tablo. My unit never worked correctly and after a few short months died. Tablo will send out new unit but cannot guarantee that unit will work any better. I asked for the refund that Tablo social media promised in writing. I was told no refund. if you have one and have a problem I would suggest filing complaint with BBB and not wasting time with Tablo customer support.

Not writing a review. Just got questions. If i was to get this device. What all do I need for it to work? Just internet?? No antenna? The reason I am asking so many questions is because I live in a small rural communitya nd our local tv stations come out of Amarillo Texas like kvii tv abc Ch 7 cbs kfda ch 10 and nbc kamr ch 4 and fox 14 kcit .

The major issue with Tablo is that it doesn’t have an HDMI port most TVs have not all have those ports. Couldn’t get it to work with my Apple TV device, which it says works with. Would not recognize my local channels from two different areas like my TV does their Customer Service doesn’t help you don’t speak English very well. Don’t even know the product very well returning the item for credit.

Works very much as advertised. Actuall running two of them on a two-family network, allows off-air TV to location that can't receive by antenna.
