Works well. Good picture from the tv tuner. Easy to hook up and use. Just one issue. It will not connect to screens on both wi/Fi and Ethernet at the same time.

I have a tablo 4 tuner that I've had for a while, and I can't say anything but good about tablo. way better than tivo. this is the new model that i picked up for my mom and dad which requires no subscription for recording. plus comes with some built in storage, but you'll still need an external drive for a lot. which this one had 4 tuners, but can't beat the price. you run an antenna to one location in your house, and connect to your tablo and bing, just use the app on all your devices to stream tv. awesome

Tablo - Best way to watch OTA

My husband was looking for a better option to watch football this season without needing to stream. After researching antennas, I came across Tablo and decided to purchase since we would also be able to pause and record the games (no monthly subscriptions also made this an immediate add to cart).
This product has been a GAMECHANGER in our house for not only watching all the big games for free, but also local channels plus the big four (NBC, ABC, etc.) and a lot more for free. Installation was easy and took less than 10 minutes. We downloaded the Tablo app and it walked us through exactly how to connect and install. Since we were also setting up an antenna at the same time, a great feature in the app walked us through how to find the best location in our home for optimal antenna reception.
After getting Tablo set up, I was really impressed with the UI. It was clean and very easy to navigate. Having not paid for cable in years (aka living with our parents) it had the same look/feel. We were able to immediately set up a few shows (and of course every football game) to record. Since Tablo works off Wi-Fi another benefit is that we can use it on any TV in our home- which means Monday night football in the mancave and the Bachelorette upstairs (DEFINITELY a win). We have several TVs in our home and use both a Roku and Firestick and have had no issues using with either. Having had the device for a few weeks now and exploring the channel offerings, we are working on reevaluating the streaming services we pay for since there are now so many shows we now get for free.
Overall, would highly recommend Tablo for anyone looking for a better way to access local channels and enhance their OTA experience.

Like it picture is better than the first generation but this one has more bugs in it. Hopefully there will be more updates. Over the air broadcast is more stable. But the free extra channels are buggy.

Not what I expected. I had an older version that died after a power outage. It worked great, but this 4th generation is junk. works ok on some Roku devices but not on all. Works fine in my office but not on Roku connecter to LG TV. Will not pick up local live channels. I have upgraded al lmy devices still does not work. I would mot recommend this device to anyone.

Tablo is a wonderful product! My favorite feature is “live rewind” while watching a show. Also the capacity for recording holds my weekly programs, plus baseball, football and basketball games. It’s easy to schedule a series and record new episodes only or reruns for the season. I keep some to re-watch or delete to make room for next weeks shows. Tablo will delete to make room too. I never miss episodes of The Price Is Right!

I attempted to connect to the Tablo using the windows app and then the android app. While using the android app I received the message “an unknown error has occurred if the problem persists, please contact support (the phone number and e-mail address was given for support). I then opted to use the windows app on the Microsoft store. I downloaded and installed the Tablo app from the Microsoft software store. The Microsoft app directed me to connect to the wifi name of Tablo_xxx. I connected to wifi name Tablo_9677, and disabled the windows firewall for 1 hour. The Microsoft app was unable to find the Tablo. I attempted an HTT connection using chrome web browser to the default gateway of 192.168.10.1, however the web page only said “Nuvyyo Tablo Server”. The directions in the Tablo app from Microsoft were no help at all. I was unable to connect to the Tablo with the android app nor the windows app. At 9:43pm MDT I placed a call to Tablo support. After one hour of hold time, I get the recorded message, “there are no agents available to take your call. Please call back later.” In the end, the only app that was able to connect to the Tablo was the chrome web browser, but that default page had nothing to click on. I could do nothing but be frustrated with the junk Tablo I had purchased from Best Buy. Ladies and gentlemen, I can not recommend you purchase a Tablo, because setup wizard does not work, and therefore, the Tablo does not operate.

I purchased the Tablo - 4th gen, in hopes that it would transition us away from a very expensive satellite bill. all in all it is working very well, only problem that I am having is, I set the app up on my phone and followed all the steps and bypassed the antenna setup. now I am having problems trying to find where on the app to correct that error. so my advice is to take time setting up the Tablo and the app.

Hello,
You should be able to simply plug in the coaxial cable and run a rescan.
If you're looking for where to position your antenna it should be easily searchable.

I like that there is no ongoing subscription for guide data. The UI is a nice improvement from the older Tablo models. Setup was easy. The hardware is very refined and beautiful. Seems to run much cooler than the older models.
Downsides - no way to watch recordings on a PC or Mac. No way to automatically skip commercials as the old models do. No out of home viewing or streaming.
I ended up returning mine and going back to my old Tablo Quad that's still working great and still skipping commercials on my recordings!

Once I got used to a new way of navigating, it deserved a five-star rating.
I also had to buy the fire stick because my TV didn't have Tablo included in the APPs list. The TV must be one of the earliest smart TVs.

The Tablo TV 4th Gen is the prefect solution for my basement television to get OTA channels where there is no broadcast signal. I placed the antenna upstairs where I had a strong signal and now I can easily stream those channels downstairs. The set up is very easy in the iOS app, and the app & channel guide on Google TV (Sony) is really easy to use. With this set up I canceled YouTube TV and am now saving almost $80/mo. *Disclaimer: I am a Best Buy employee, but do not work with Tablo. It is just a genuinely good product.

Works ok if you need in house streaming to mobile devices. Does not go to a PC, however, does work with Firestick. Has connection issues occasionally and initial setup isn't the easiest. Cannot connect to it outside the house.

OTA at its best. Also a guide and dvr that lets you see two weeks out. My pic shows a 500gb ssd. also attached to increase storage to well over 200 hrs. 50 hrs without it.

This unit does a good job of streaming the TV signal to your TV via the Tablo 4 generation app. The unit requires a strong signal to prevent the stream from timing out. There is a built-in signal amp, but only 10 dB, I need to add a signal booster with my good antenna. I am in a rural area, so this would not be a problem closer to the transmiting antenna.

I love this thing! Compared to some of the negative reviews, I can only guess that they've made software improvements or that it depends on the equipment you're streaming with. This connected immediately to wifi and has worked flawlessly for me. It's remarkable to be able to browse guides for antenna channels and set series recordings the same as a traditional DVR on cable. I added an external 5TB drive and I can record almost 1000 hours if I want. And no monthly fees. The app for Nvidia Shield connects beautifully with no cords. I can fast forward commercials. With a good antenna, this thing is amazing!

I really, really like this device, but... the software for streaming for Roku and FireTV is kludgy. Sometimes to change channels I need to shut the app down, once I even had to reboot my Roku box. I also think the tuner isn't very sensitive. If you don't have an extremely strong signal, it won't recognize the channel. I guess I had to wrangle it into submission, but it suits my situation and has worked well since I got it all figured out. I put an old 2tb drive on it and it does DVR really well and it's nice to be able to back up or pause a live broadcast. I also bought a SiliconDust but I took it back and kept the tablo.

Use to have a TIVO which screws you with a subscription fee to use it. I love that this provides recording and programming grids for free. This is part of my cable cutting, since we use it to record mostly OTA programming.
