Best Disney Movie Since "The Lion King"

Disney used to be the best at animated films. It seemed the Disney magic was lost forever after the release of "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Lion King." From what I have read, "Tangled" will be the last fairy tale animated movie Disney will do (at least for a really long time). I am happy Disney ended their animation of fairy tales on such a solid movie. I loved "Tangled" from start to finish. The story was fun and the dialogue was very entertaining for adults. I am divorced and I know it would be acceptable to just rent "Tangled" on my weekends with my son, but I know I will buy this movie for my personal collection. If you have not seen "Tangled" yet I recommend you purchase it as soon as the movie is in the store! You will love it! Thank you, Disney!

Tangled tells the tale of 'Rapunzel' and is Disney's 50th animated feature. The feel of Tangled is like a classic Disney animated feature, but using the latest in CGI animation. The animation is brilliant, amazingly detailed and fluid. Very natural looking. There are also some positively stunning scenes that make astounding use of light and color. One scene belongs in the finest art museums. The style is different from PIXAR features, Disney Animation went with more of a realistic look than the stylized look of something like 'Incredibles' or Ratatouille'. The story is told very close to how Walt Disney himself might have told the story, it's almost like watching a classic like 'Sleeping Beauty' done in CGI rather than cel animation. Tangled is one of the funniest movies I've seen come out of Disney, but is also, at turns, exciting and touching. There's lots of action, but no violence. Old school charm with the latest technology, I think Walt would have been proud. The music is great. Alan Menkin composed yet another fantastic score for Disney and many of the songs are Oscar worthy. I loved 'I have a dream' a cute and bouncy number which features a bunch of thugs singing about thier various dreams (like being a concert pianist) but the best song is 'Now I see the light', a beautiful love song. The HD transfer is the same as on any other Disney Blu-Ray. In other words, fantastic! Disney keeps giving us flawless Blu-Ray transfers with no trace of defect anywhere to be found and continues to be the studio with the most consistently outstanding Blu-Ray line up. I would have liked some more in-depth features on the making of the movie. Tangled is perfect family entertainment. Yet another winner from Disney.

Disney finally made a good movie

OK, before I say anything I'm rating this based on story, animation, and acting,,, yes, Disney is kinda cheap when it comes to packaging, {every single disk is boring and dull, and the only way to see the title is if you look closely, one time i couldn't tell which Disney DVD was which, so I had to look closer, please try to do better Disney} Tangled is a very good movie, it's not like all the modern Disney films that we used to see like Tinkerbell, this one is different, it has a very good story with a twist, it has good actors, good animation, and good humor for children and adults, I especially love the songs, but i think the first one was a little too modern for an old fairy tale story, but it was still good But I also have some issues with this film too, like the fact that the horse is smarter than a group of people, this is both funny and stupid, I mean honestly? a horse is smarter than a human, but still they did a good job in making Max funny, another issue i had is the bar seen, it just went on for a little too long,,, but after watching it for a second time i actually enjoyed it, so it is not that much of an issue anymore, This is defiantly a movie to buy, i don't think it is the best copy to get though, if i were you i would buy the blu ray disk if at all possible, but that is just my opinion, i don't have one, i only have a DVD player, and im perfectly fine with it too, but apparently DVDs will eventually not be sold in stores, just like the VHS tapes are no longer sold and can i just say I'm a 16 year old guy, who has a dream

I enjoyed this movie very much. Glad I gambled and took the chance. I never read any books or knew anything about the main character besides her name. The 3d was nice. Its not reaching out the screen but it has nice depth. Nice and crisp on my Sony Bravia. The sound was great as well. It had alot of cute funny parts that I didn't expect. A few double image spot here and there but you don't notice it really. Of coarse it will vary from tv to tv along with the settings you have it on. No reason to down this movie at all Plus it has all the other formats as well so the price it worth it. I gave the dvd version to my kids and I retained the rest. I typically don't care much for Disney movies due to all the singing but this one wasn't bad at all. I am happy that I added to my collection.

First, the extras got a 3 simply because I haven't explored them and I'm going by Disney's habit of 'ok' extras. I saw this in the theater with my 4 year old niece and she adores it. It's funny and has jokes for adults that sail right over the kids heads, yet has kids jokes that they love. She got a little spooked at a couple of places, but nothing bad or horrible. The animation is good and the voice talent very good. Definitely a good movie for the kidlets that adults will enjoy too.

Good not great try Disney TERRIBLE DVD PACKAGE

After a decade of disappointing Disney films (NOT talking with Pixar) with only "Lilo and Stitch" as the only hit Disney decided to go back to tried & true. And, did they. It is a good film. There is humor. Supporting characters that we more exciting than the main characters. That would be Maximus & Pascal. Stole one name from "Gladiator"? We got back into regular Disney music for a film. That is a plus, BUT which is major. None of the songs are memorable. I can NOT remember any of them after the film. Is colorful. When I wrote above about tried & true. I mean it. You see several scenes here that were taken from both "Beauty and the Beast" & "Snow White". When the film started I thought I was watching "Beauty and the Beast". The superior film of course, "Snow White" again superior and the one that started the full length animated films. The good guy is first a heal, hey Disney how about I saw that in "The Princess and the Frog"? So, it was a good try & a good film Disney. Just NOT a bulls eye. NOW, THE COMPLAINT I HAVE WITH DISNEY NOW. They think EVERYONE has a blu/ray player. I do NOT. Can NOT afford one or the discs. So, Disney does NOT care about regular DVD's anymore. There is only one extra on this and it is for kids. And, for a colorful film why a plain Jane silver disc Disney? Cheap. For a colorful film, beautiful animation a plain silver disc. Cutting corners does NOT make people customers happy Disney. Disney has gone cheap, NOT the way to make money Disney. I hope your company AGAIN uses sales because of these cheap tricks. Disney, you want to make money. KEEP YOUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY.

This movie is a kickback to the movies we grew up with - Little Mermaid, Cinderella, etc. Great story, great music, great characters. Several funny moments. Great for adults and kids. One of the best Disney movies to come out in the last 10 years.

    Good movie-BLU RAY PACKAGE DISAPPOINTING

I enjoyed the film. I already reviewed the 1 disc DVD release. Best regular Disney film since Lilo and Stitch. Music better than it had been in SOME TIME since Enchanted, but you do NOT remember the songs after the fact. Enjoyed the Maximum & Pascal characters. I said this in my DVD review & people did NOT like it. The flaw with the film is that it took from Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and why we do NOT know The Princess and the Frog. SPOILER ALERT: The villain falls from the tower, did we NOT see the villain fall to their end in Snow White? The magic flower was in Beauty & the Beast with the Rose. Crowd scene in same film & Hutchback. The good guy starts out being a heal like Princess and the Frog. Now, I bought the blu ray LOOKING FORWARD TO BETTER EXTRAS. Was I disappointed. I like "making of" specials & did look forward to seeing this one. It is NOT meant for adults, it is directed only for kids. Too short, did NOT show hardly anything. Just done by 2 of the films voice talents talking ONLY to kids NOT to viewers of any age. We do get more extras on the blu ray than the 1 on the regular DVD, rest not outstanding, just normal stuff. So, a good movie but taking ideas from previous Disney movies is a flaw. Extras just NOT outstanding, just normal.

Okay first of all, no, Tangled is not Disney's last fairytale. There are several fairytales in the making currently. The first of which to be released in 2013 as the Snow Queen. Anyways, Tangled was absolutely wonderful. The animating was so well done, and it was such a beautiful and magical picture overall.

If you like Disney movies at all, this one totally delivers. I know when I was watching the previews for it, I thought it would be really cheesy. But I absolutely loved it. There are parts of it (I won't give it away) that absolutely make my heart swell. It always manages to cheer me up if I'm having a rough day. There are elements of it that are similar to Rapunzel but it's not a re-telling of the story. Thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up!

Most of the other Disney princess movies are amazing, except for princess and the frog (I don't know what they were thinking with that movie), but Disney brought their A game for this movie. It is the cutest movie ever and I could watch it a million times. It's great for children and parents if you are getting this movie for a kid who will watch it over and over again trust me you will be able to tolerate it. Everyone should have this movie.

This is a great movie for the whole family. It is an Allen Menken musical and features great songs. As normal, Disney did a fantastic job on the HD transfer of this modern animation motion picture. It looks great. It is Disney animation and will be loved by children. However, the storyline, top notch voice talent, and excellent script will also leave adults entertained as well.

This make me believe in good things in our life again. It is what Disney aims to do for every one of us since its foundation. And I have to say that they succeeded this time again. Go buy this movie for your family to watch. I'm not going to spoil the experience. But rest assured that you'll be taken good care of by the magic hands of Disney!
