Works really well and was exactly what we were looking for

Purchased to help laptop stay cooler. Laptop fan not doing the job.

My laptop regularly overheats so when I read the reviews for this product I thought this would really helps lower the temperature. When I bought the product the first thing I noticed was the size. My laptop is 15.5 inches, so when I read that this could fit 16 inches I thought I would be fine. Not so, despite being smaller than the size limit my laptop would overhang the sides by an inch on each edge. Next came the height of the pad. My laptop sits on my desk at a decent height for gaming, but this pad raised it by at least an inch, making it difficult to play games using the WASD keys. The next issue was the amount of cool air being produced, despite having dual fans, they didn't produce enough cool air for it to even feel like a breeze. And despite having holes in the upper side to spread the air, it only continued in the path it was pulled into by the fans. Is this product quiet? Yes Is it cheap? Yes Is it a quality product? No. If you want something for your small laptop to keep it cool on your lap, this is the product for you. If you want something that produces a decent amount of cool air to keep your laptop cooled, I would suggest looking at other products.

I bought this for my macbook pro. Removed my computer from its macally bookshell2 case and used this since I received it. All it's good for is having a sturdy flat surface to hold my computer when working on the go. It provides a buffer between my legs and the hot computer. The two fans are very weak and cools every so slightly. I was expecting so much more from this. I don't recommend this for macbook users.

Its quiet and keeps the temperature down by a very noticeable difference. 5/5 would buy again

After a few weeks, one fan quit. A couple weeks later, the last fan quit. There is no 'anti-skid' material on the surface, so the laptop slides all around when typing.

Poor quality, fan isnt strong and cable provided is short.

I bought a Targus Laptop Chill Mat. It was one of only three types of laptop coolers in the store.The other two, also made by Targus, were either too bulky, or inclined the laptop at an angle which made keyboard use difficult. The Laptop Chill Mat is powered by USB connection to two very weak muffin fans that do NOT move enough air to be effective. I use an Apple MacBook Pro laptop which is cooled by its aluminum case; this requires air movement over the bottom of the case for cooling. The Laptop Chill Mat has enough holes in the mat to let the air through, but the two fans don't move enough air.

I bought one 2 months ago and it worked great at first. It last about 2 1/2 months and then quit working. I would find something else and not bother with this one.

It feels extremely cheap, felt like cheap plastic that could break under the weight of the laptop itself or by dropping it once. The fans are comically bad. I would not trust this to help ventilate my laptop.

One of the fans quite within the first month. Their warranty is ok but you pay to ship it to them.

My mistake was not trying this when I first received it in the mail. I was still using one I had for a year (different brand)and started using this one when the old one died. After about a month of use, the right fan quit working. Now after 4 months it quit altogether. I ordered it because of the reviews but am very disappointed in Targus.

The fans hardly do anything even when elevated to allow air flow underneath it. Maybe it might help for a work computer that you only use for 30 minutes at a time but not a gaming laptop.

Loud fans and buzzing plastic. Not worth the price... Maybe ten dollars.

after a couple of months the chill mat starts to make a very loud grinding sound that just won't stop. this is my 2nd unit and both have done the same thing

It says it can fits up to 16" Laptop, but it is not it is even too small for my 15.5" laptop and small grip not enough to hold Laptop. Not worthy to buy with this amount.
