Although, the USB connector may be old the chill mat (and other things like mice and keyboards) do not need the speed of a USB-C connection and such a connection would be wasted on them when it would be better used for something that does need that speed. In the future this may change as devices like this always do. Relatively quiet, simple, and does the job. I may even try it as additional cooling if I ever get a PS5 ordered...

Effective and worth the price, but I worry about longterm durability.
