Not really noisy at all, and it does help the laptop stay a touch cooler. Just don't expect much.

It has intake vents on the side so you are able to keep the mat and laptop in your lap without blocking vents. This seems like it should be an obvious thing, but apparently many don't feel the same. The fans aren't extremely strong, but will help keep average laptops slightly cooler.

This pad keeps my PC cool, doesn't suck up too much battery power and really feels good on my legs while in my lap. The side that lays against my legs has the perfect texture and is soft against my legs while wearing shorts.
