It takes the edge off of your CPU and keeps your computer from getting hot and slowing down. I wish the USB connection were a little longer, but you're all good with a USB extension. I recommend not plugging it into the computer your cooling as you're just asking more of your computer. I recommend this unit if you need something to keep your CPU from getting too hot and slwing down.

My son needed this badly

Just glad my wife and I were heading out. It works great and he his able to work again with no problems

But the fans only provide a light breeze towards the bottom of the laptop...if you expect a stronger blastoff air, this is not what you need.

Cooling Pad

This pad has a bottom pad for your lap and it feels great. Another option is where you store the USB cord the storage door can be left open to tilt the pad towards you. Love it.

They did not have the one advertised on Bestbuy.com or any other choices. A bit noisy when plugged in. I would probably look elsewhere for an alternative next time. Just didn't have much time.
