Even with the Chill Mat attached and powered on, my laptop's internal fan appears to be doing the bulk of the thermal regulation. There is minimal airflow provided by the Chill Mat. On the plus-side, the Chill Mat is lightweight. So, you should be able to get some good hang-time when launching it into the nearest recycle bin.

I decided to give this a shot. Unfortunately, it didn't help the problem at all. The two fans are too small and don't move much air. The position of them also isn't ideal for our laptop, either. Another gripe I have is that it does not have a switch and does not auto-shutdown when the laptop is in sleep mode, so it needs to be unplugged when the laptop is not in use.

Not only do the 2 fans not cool properly or evenly, but they become very loud after some periodic use and worst of all the cord that runs out of the back to give the fans power has nowhere to go so eventually the wire WILL become worn and pulled out of its casing.
