No, it will not move it much but this is enough movement to distribute air around a laptop to help keep it cool and from overheating. I moved the laptop around and tried to place the fan directly on the vents and it seemed to work a little better.

Don't waste the money!

The fan did not help to cool my laptop.

While playing the game I had noticed that the laptop would get to hot to even touch. The cord on this unit would not reach the USB plug on the side of the laptop. I had to use an extension cord. Then while playing the same game I noticed that it didn't make any difference to the overheating issue. Best Buy had no issue with me returning the item.
