I love this case. It provides plenty of room for my mac book air and cords. It is light and easy to carry.

There's no need to purchase an expensive, fancy sleeve. I didn't purchase this for a laptop. Instead, I purchased this to hold my portable monitor that is essentially a tablet. This works perfectly.

This is a good MacBook Pro cover. It is very basic in design and self-clips onto the edges of the MacBook Pro. If you were wanting to apply decals to the top of your MacBook, it would be difficult to see them because the color is dark. This cover is firm and does a good job of shielding the computer from nicks and dings. I don't think it will do much for a fall though. I don't think any cover will protect from a fall, unless it's made with foam.
