    The VersaVu case is certified to protect the new iPad from drops. For dry conditions, that capability is very good. What it does not do is protect the iPad from immersion. The cover, in its folded back condition does not maintain a firm hinged condition; it wavers, so can not be depended on in the user's handgrip.

    This was for someone else. I have owned 3 or 4 Targus covers for my iPads over the years. They are great! However, this cover has a different texture, that when your fingers rub over it, it made a noise, like fingers nails on a chalkboard. (Not as loud, but similar) I will be returning this cover, he doesn't like that sound.
