The soft touch material it's made from is very nice. The base has slots that keep it in place. I originally purchased a different brand and the bottom of it was flimsy and unsuitable for use on top of a pillow. The Targus case is perfect because the base is very sturdy, perfect for putting on a pillow on your lap, and the slots are deep enough to keep it from moving around.
