    For the price, it should have an auto sleep mode. Nope, when you open it you have to manually turn the ipad on. Before you close it you have to turn it off. Too expensive not to have this feature. That said, this is a high quality case. It was super nice. Almost kept it, but returned for a case from a competitor that had the sleep mode feature.
