Very Disappointed w/Performance - Died at 18 month

We got this TV at the beginning of the pandemic to replace a Samsung that had stopped working. It seemed to work great at first, but within 5 months would glitch from time to time, didn't always respond to the remote, and would often require restarting whenever the pause button was pushed during viewing. This became a source of fighting among my kids - any time one of them wanted to pause the movie to use the bathroom or get something to eat, they would fight about it, knowing that the chances of the TV glitching and needing to be completely restarted were high. Well, a year and a half after buying it, it finally stopped responding to the remote entirely, which is a huge problem since the TV has no buttons and requires the use of the remote. Replaced the remote batteries, but still no luck. I went out and got a compatible replacement remote and that seemed to solve the problem . . . for 55 minutes, or half of the movie we tried to watch last night. The TV glitched halfway through the movie, froze on a scene and refused to play or turn off or on, and had to finally be unplugged when we gave up and decided to go to bed. We aren't a hug TV-wathcing house and only have the one small TV bought to fit in our older enclosed TV cabinet, so even thought $180 may not seem expensive to some, we expected this to perform better and last longer than a year and a half!

Our TVs are carefully designed and engineered to give our customers years of entertainment. Our TVs do come with a 1-year parts and labor manufacturer's warranty for those rare times that defects occur. In cases like this, if you purchased an extended warranty, you may want to reach out to see if you can file a warranty claim through the extended warranty company. Furthermore, if you purchased using a credit card, some credit card companies also provide additional coverage. We will continue to make improvements to ensure our customers the best experience possible.

Great TV for the Price

It fit perfectly, very light and excellent features. The interface e is very easy to navigate. The TV set up instructions are very easy. I was impressed with this TV. This is my first TCL. All my other TVs are Samsung. If they could just make a 85” or bigger, I would consider it.
