Nice looking but TV software is horrible

Right now, I'm trying to power it on and it just powers off less than 10 seconds later. Several times now. I'm going to have to crawl behind a couch and power it off and reset it. I have to do this more often than I should. The software that runs this TV appears to need MAJOR help. I would stay away until they can fix the bugs...

Don’t buy TCL

Home Screen is cluttered and navigation can be a pain. My biggest complaint? I purchased this in early March and have had to call customer service once and have had to reboot the thing over 10 times since I bought it even after the call to customer service. It starts, boots to the home page and then jumps to an app with no sound. I’m ready to trash the thing and get a different brand.

Works great

Got it for my dorm room as the tvs need to be connected with an Ethernet port and cannot have additional streaming services added externally like a Roku stick. Fatal flaw

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never left a negative review for anything before but I am surprised by one fatal flaw in the design of this TV. When you turn it off, the white plastic detail at the bottom center of the screen emits a very bright ghastly greyish white light THE ENTIRE TIME the TV is turned off. Who on Earth would want this? If you have this in your bedroom, good luck trying to sleep ever again. It also seems to be where the sensor for the remote is located. However, I took black electrical tape and covered the entire thing (it's seriously quite big at 2" X 1.25") except for a tiny little square opening in the middle front. It still works with the remote and cuts down on a lot of light. At night, I park a picture frame in front of it at bed time. The product would be great if not for this absurd feature. Nobody really wants little electronic LEDs glowing all over the place but we know it's now a part of life. This is just too much though. If this was fixed in the next version, I'd highly recommend it.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. You can turn off the Standby LED by 1.) Power on TV; 2.) Press the gear button on TV Remote; 3.) Navigate to: Settings -> System -> Advanced Settings -> Standby LED -> Off. Hope this helps!
