Terrible - Save Yourself Money

Has issues reconnecting half the time, doesnt support Xfinity app and is just slow. Spend an extra $50 and grab yourself a better TV

Difficult to Navigate - Unable to download apps

It's 35 inch tv not 40 inches

Surprisingly Good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just had it delivered several hours ago. Setup was pretty easy (I already had a Google/Gmail account). I'm pretty geeky but don't use all of it's features in this room, and haven't played with the Android interface much—just plugged in my Roku and sent the audio via an optical cable from the TV to my stereo. Then I tweaked the picture settings, less brightness and a little less color and it looks great. I boosted the sharpness and it's still good and not grainy. I sit closer to (only 6') it than my 65" Samsung in my bedroom, but it looks at least as good. I use a Harmony remote and since they didn't have any entries for this model I guess I was the first one, so I entered all the commands and I've put away the remote that came with it. For the money, I'd call it a buy.

No 5G wfi and horrible HDR but great value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already purchased a 40 inch 1080p roku TV last year. I was extremely satisfied with it, but now I needed another 40 inch 1080p TV for another room. When I saw this set, decided to give it a try. There are a few features that really caught my attention. It has Hdr10 and Bluetooth to pair speakers and such. Plus built in chromecast and android tv. Also, the speakers are more powerful than the roku version. I found an open box on my local best buy and it was missing some parts but no big deal, I was going to mount this TV on the wall anyways. While setting up the TV with my android phone, I noticed that setup stalled after I selected a 5ghz wifi network during the TV setup through my phone. Restarted setup and selected 2.4ghz and was able to finish setup with no issues. Once that was done, I went to settings to look for my 5ghz wifi but it wasn't there. I have a top of the line net gear router with dual 5ghz bands and I did not pick up any, not on channel 36 or channel 153. Then I took out an old 5ghz router, no go. Then I started my 5ghz Hotspot on my cellphone, and again, no go. This blows my mind. Why not add 5ghz wifi on a 2020 TV? The 2018 roku version has 5ghz and i used it with no problems. Also, this set comes with HDR, but like all other TCL TVs, hdr is bad (I also have a 55 inch 5 series and hdr is horrible) I was able to turn off hdr on the roku TVs but I am not able to do it on this one, so any HDR content from my firestick, gets really dark and almost unwatchable, and yes I spend more than 30 mins tweaking picture settings. The wifi issue is not as annoying because I am using 2.4ghz and is working fine for now, but not able to turn HDR off is almost making want to return the set (firestick does not let you turn off hdr either) but then I remember how cheap I got it so I might wait for this set to become more popular so someone online finally figures out how to disable it. If you don't watch HDR content and do not do heavy streaming or casting, this is an excellent set, just take the time to tweak picture settings because the factory default ones are bad
