||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Was drawn to this for the 120hz panel and full HD specs, but in all honesty, it looks terrible. Stutters on action scenes off full HD DirecTV, has a terrible viewing angle and feels really cheap. A simple tap on the panel turns the entire screen white for a second. Salesperson in the store compared it to Vizio or Insignia, but it's FAR below either of those. It's got decent sound and Roku, and that's where it ends. Does not have an ethernet port, either, but I knew that going in.

Good TV for price

Consider alternatives - with better connectivity

I spent over a hour with tech support diagnosing network issues and we were unable to fix it. I recommend that you consider other TVs and when doing so make sure that they have WiFi and Ethernet connection capability.

Price was good and Roku works

Quality is not great

When it would connect to wifi the streaming apps would buffer a lot or crash part way through an episode. Some quick googling shows this is a common problem with these TVs. I plugged a fire stick into the HDMI and that worked great, but I bought a TV with built in apps so I wouldn't have to use a fire stick. Seems like quality control is poor on these.

Crashes

I bought this TV because my old Roku TV started to do the same thing but a lot worse and I figured it was because it was so old and not fast enough for all of the updates on the streaming apps.

ROKU control no good

Stay away from this brand!

I bought this in 2020 and only used it on weekends, the tv is now junk, it restarts every 10 mins or less, the warranty won't do anything even though it is clearly a bug in the tv and should be THEIR problem to fix. this is now a glorified picture frame on my wall. I will never buy their product again.

Issues with Roku private listening feature

I use the private listening feature on Roku a lot, and on this TV that feature is apparently unusable -- audio is choppy and cuts out. When I contacted TCL tech support, they basically refused to help me. I wouldn't recommend a company that won't support their products, and that's the main reason for my low rating.

Sorry to hear about the audio problems you have encountered with your TV. That can be extremely frustrating for sure. Choppy audio when using private listening is usually caused by a weak wireless signal or restricted bandwidth and rarely has anything to do with the TV itself. Please give our customer support another try to assist you in troubleshooting though you may also want to reach out to your internet provider to see if they can provide any assistance.

Worthless; won't last

I've had the tv for a year and half and the IR receiver doesn't work making the TV absolutely useless. All I can do is turn the TV on and change the input. Can't change the volume. Can't change the channel. Can't launch a streaming service. Nothing else. Even when the tv worked it was slow to respond and frequently buggy. I expect TVs to last longer than 18 months. Will never buy a TCL product again.

Our TVs do come with a 1-year parts and labor manufacturer's warranty for those rare times that defects occur. In cases like this, if you purchased an extended warranty, you may want to reach out to see if you can file a warranty claim through the extended warranty company. Furthermore, if you purchased using a credit card, some credit card companies also provide additional coverage. However, you can download the free Roku mobile app on your smartphone to use as a remote, cast personal photos and videos to the TV, experience private listening, etc. You can also cast select channels (Such as YouTube) from your Apple device.
