When streaming, you would want to check your WiFi signal strength. For this TV, you would want to make sure that you have a minimum of 5.0 Megabits per second.     Blinking Light

    As far as picture quality, sound, streaming, ease, and price goes, this is definitely a 5 star TV. But that white light is -5 stars. First of all, it's on when the TV is off which is crazy, but at least that can be disabled in the settings. But when the TV isn't online, it blinks continuously and that can't be disabled. I called TCL support and he kept repeating that the point of the flashing light was to let people know that the TV wasn't online. But duh, if the wifi isn't connected, I don't need a light flashing in my eyes to tell me that. I prefer to only have my wifi on when I'm using the computer or streaming, otherwise I turn it off, but then it's impossible to watch regular TV because that stinkin light keeps flashing. I put a piece of black electrical tape over it, that sure covered the light, however, then the remote control didn't work. The only option I had was to reset the TV to factory settings and skip the step of connecting to wifi, which defeats the whole point of a Smart TV, and use the Roku that I already had. I wouldn't buy the TV again for that reason.

      Hi Marty,

      When you disable to Standby LED it should also disable it from blinking when not connected to the Internet. To turn off the standby LED you would go to Home>Settings>System>Power>Standby LED>OFF.     Good picture inexpensive but processor and wifi are slow and buggy. TV’s have come a long way and don’t like to complain because the price is good but also in this day and age theres no excuse for subpar performance

    TCL is a great brand for the value that you receive! I dont have any complaints or issues with this item or purchase. I may not use this as a "MainTV" or in my livingroom, but this is perfect for a kids bedroom, mediaroom, or a patio area.

    Great sound quality for a flat screen, much better than my last 40". Video quality is solid with it's only limitation being limited color/contrast selection. For me, that was to be expected at this price point, but it still looks great on this size screen. The Roku platform is excellent. I have a Sony 65" 4k as well, that uses an Android based smart tv platform. I much prefer the Roku, greater app selection, I can hide/delete unwanted apps, overall much cleaner interaction. I am buying a second one today for my parents for Christmas.

    If you just want to watch the TV with all the commercials, this is a great buy. The picture is good quality. Unfortunately, the remote sucks! It's like a experimental prototype that didn't work, but they decided to use it anyway. It's almost not worth the effort to try to use it for recorded programs. It's slow to respond, so you end up clicking it again, and then it gets all confused. Fast forwarding also gets it confused, and it goes back to the main menu. Often doesn't let you resume, and you end up starting at the beginning, with rapid fast forward usually not working at all. Tried buying a new remote, but it's the design. Didn't help at all. Why can't you guys offer an upgrade remote that really works? I'd go for the extra $50.

    I decided to get this size for my bedroom rather than the 43". Unfortunately, this tv doesn't come with a network port--just built-in wifi, and the signal from the router, which is far, far away in the house, isn't good enough to let me stream. I think they should have this in the specifications, i.e., Network Ports : 0, since that's the way they show what inputs/outputs the tv does not have. Instead they put "Network Compatibility: Built-in Wi-fi" which doesn't mean it doesn't also have a network port (like all the other tvs I was selecting from). Frustrating because I thought I was being so careful about checking everything. Who would have thought you couldn't hard wire to a network. Other than that I'd be happy with it because the picture is fine, the sound is fine, the size is good. I would recommend to a friend but only if I tell them about the lack of port.

      All of our smart TVs have the ability to connect to the Internet via WiFi. If you are looking for a TV with an Ethernet port you can try looking at our 4-Series. In addition to having an Ethernet port it also has a 4K UHD resolution and HDR support. Happy viewing!
