No need for a cable box if you have one of the may service providers that have a Roku app. Great for cord cutters who are doing all streaming. Even in a room with limited wifi it preforms well with no connection issues. For the price you cant really complain too much. I wouldn't get it if you want a great picture quality and are gaming. Also the speakers are a little tinny. We have it set up in the guest bedroom and it works great there.

Roku interface is snappy and allows for downloading any apps a kid would need for viewing content. Wifi has been good for us, no issues.
