Absolutely wonderful!

It has made such a difference for my husband and me, increasing our enjoyment of watching TV and movies. The picture is wonderful and the Roku operating system is so smooth and easy to use. This is the first time we moved up to a (relatively) large TV, and it makes a huge difference. The 43" inch size was perfect for our entertainment center, and our den is a small room, so a larger TV wouldn't have worked for us. I know that many people wouldn't be satisfied with anything less than a huge TV for thousands of dollars, but this one is perfect for us, and it only cost us $219.

Great option for a 4K HDR Windows 10 monitor

We have them connected to RTX 2080 cards and after fiddling with them for a bit we've got them running well. Here's what we ended up using to get things working smoothly: 1) Connect the TV to the card via displayport using the Club3D CAC-1080 Active DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.0b HDR Adapter. 2) When configuring the TV input, specify a 'game console' rather than a computer. Doing this forced the TV and Windows to negotiate HDMI, color, and HDR options. 3) In the display settings, turn sharpness to 0. 4) In the NVidia control panel, set the 'Output color format' to YCbCr422 and apply. Do it again if it doesn't take it the first time. 5) In the NVidia control panel, set the 'Output color depth' to 12 bpc and apply. Again, do this step until it takes. At this point, setting enabling the 'HDR and WCG' option in the display settings causes the HDR notification on the TV and enables HDR settings for the input. The colors are washed out in desktop mode, so don't leave it enabled. We've tested HDR with both Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey and verified that it's enabled. I like the 'Bright HDR' option in the TV settings when playing. Using this setup, we have a crisp picture in desktop and in games. One of the computers has this as well as Rift connected. The use of the DisplayPort adapter left my HDMI open for the Rift. Lastly, the TV worked flawlessly with a original PS4, including HDR once I switched the HDMI mode to 2.0 in the TV settings.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.we bought this yesterday set up is very simple. great picture and color sound is pretty good for factory speakers. if youadd a sound bar get one that has the arch Hamdi connection that way when its hooked up you can use your Roku remote to control the volume on it. I highly recommend

And worked very well.....for about a month. I didn't buy the warranty and now I'm stuck with a TV that doesn't work anymore. I can hear voice but no picture. Maybe it was just my luck but I am definitely not satisfied with this purchase. Can't say I recommend this tv.

43" picture is OK but Wifi/Roku stinks

I just got it to replace my old 32" Visio which I have used for years with two Roku devices. The most recent one was a Roku Ultra. I never had connectivity issues with either device. My new TCL shows 40-50 Mbps on the check connection, However, at least once a day Netflix or Youtube TV get stuck, the screen goes black, and eventually if I'm lucky, indicates a connectivity problem. Sometimes it gets stuck and I have to unplug the TV because the power off won't even respond. If I power off and back on, then it usually can connect. In many cases, there is at least one other TV on connected via a Roku device to the same router that has an uninterrupted connection while the TCL is blaming the wifi. Either this TV has a bad implementation of the Roku tech or the wifi just stinks. My wife votes to return this TV since she can't get it to work without my help.

The worst TV you could ever buy

Last week, we turned on the TV but all we saw was a Black screen. It has been like that since. I’ve reached out to TLC to ask whether this is normal. They said the TV is out of warranty and I should take it to a local repair shop. What a brilliant idea!!! I’ve read many complaining the same issue in forums. It seems that it’s a common problem for these TVs. If you want to trash your TV in less than two years, go for it and buy this crappy product.

Including that original black & white, this is worst TV I have ever used. It’s slow, needs to be constantly reset, and blacks out for minutes for no apparent reason. Spend the extra 100 bucks to buy a better brand. My mom said, you get what you pay for. I spent 30 years in the video business and should have listened to her. This set is junk.

Screen went out within 8 months

The screen went black in the middle of a show yesterday. Sound still works, and you can tell the backlight is on, but absolutely no image shows up on the screen. Considering I bought this to replace a TV that had the same problem after 8 years of use and this has only had 8 months, I'm seriously unimpressed.

wifi fails on 2020 firmware

We like Roku, thought this would be a good buy for our house. So, we tried this and a similar model and as soon as the latest TCL firmware was loaded, wifi quit working. Disconnected right in the middle of watching a show. And it never came back. Tried 2 models: 40" Class 3 and 43" Class 4. Both downloaded the same current firmware, both completely failed to work on wifi. Spent 45 minutes on phone with tech support, all we accomplished was a full factory reset, which worked for a bit. But, as soon as the latest firmware downloaded again, No Connection. Tried 3 different brands of wifi routers. This wasn't our first tech purchase in the 21st century, we have dozens of devices and 2 wifi networks, working just fine. Replaced with a Vizio, zero wifi problems.
